At Alice & Bob, we are building the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer that can solve the world's hardest problems using superconducting cat qubits.

Cat qubits have the astonishing ability to autonomously suppress a certain type of error, and a significantly reduced hardware overhead compared to other technologies. This efficient technology makes us a leader in the race towards a fault-tolerant quantum computer.

We have raised 30 million EUR of funding and are currently over 100 employees at our main facilities in Paris. Among us are physicists, engineers, PhD students and experienced business professionals, all working together to reach our ambitious goal. If you want to challenge yourself and participate in this race, apply today.

About the role:
As a Quantum Experimentalist at Alice & Bob, you'll drive the advancement of our cutting-edge cat-qubit processors. You'll apply your expertise in quantum mechanics and experimental physics to refine calibration, challenge designs, and optimize our quantum circuits. This role involves improving experimental setups and collaborating across teams to push the state of the art.

Responsibilities:

    • Measure, characterize in-depth, and fine tune quantum circuits and quantum gates.
    • Carry in-depth analysis of the data to improve theoretical models.
    • Drive new circuit designs and measurement methods from ideas to experimental validation and integration in cat-qubit quantum processors.
    • Contribute to the improvement of the experimental setups and tools.
    • Contribute to the expansion of the knowledge base of Alice & Bob.
    • Report on experimental results internally and externally.

Requirements:

    • 2+ years of practical experience conducting experiments in quantum mechanics, preferably in the field of superconducting quantum circuits.
    • First-hand experience with Microwave control and measurement of superconducting quantum circuits.
    • Data analysis and comparison to theory or numerical simulations.
    • Theoretical knowledge of superconducting microwave resonators.
    • Advanced Python programming skills.
    • Scientific writing using MS Office or Latex .

Nice to have:

    • Knowledge of Quantum error correction protocols is an asset.
    • A strong curiosity and openness to new ideas.
    • Research skills (going through existing literature, testing new methods).
    • Team player mindset.

Benefits:

    • 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
    • Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for bike enthusiasts
    • Competitive health benefits with Helium/AXA
    • Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
    • Parental benefits with crèche support
    • Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month
    • Language courses covered by the company
    • Mental health support with moka.care
    • Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club
