The Senior Business Analyst (Sr. BA) is a global shared services position, a senior individual contributor who drives assignments of moderate to high levels of complexity. They play a significant role in guiding enterprise level solutions, driving continuous improvement and will also have a role in training, and supporting other Business Analysts.
They will analyze information and operational systems and software applications or data analytics solutions for the company. They manipulate and analyze large data sets to answer business questions and document results which may be used as the basis for new or updated software solutions. They introduce new ideas and concepts to streamline departmental processes and look for ways to increase operational efficiency and project delivery. They will identify and mitigate risks associated with systems/processes, ensuring data security, compliance with Policies and SOPs, and ensuring data governance measures are in place.
Needs Analysis / Business Analysis
- Lead and facilitate stakeholder and subject matter expert’s engagements across the organization including senior leadership team and executives.
- Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders to understand their issues, business problems and needs.
- Conduct detailed and structured analysis to understand strategic priorities, business objectives, identify problems or opportunities.
- Maintain an organizational level view of the interdependencies of processes, systems and functions when assessing objectives.
- Using established modelling techniques, methodologies to clearly communicate the business and technical visions, and define a case to support change.
- Evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of systems in meeting their intended objectives, recommending improvements in both technology and processes
- Coordinate with vendors for application support, including managing service level agreements, incident resolution, and contract negotiations.
- Measure the success of changes implemented through key performance indicators (KPIs) and user feedback.
- Prepare and present analysis summaries, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including but not limited to process flows, data dictionaries, business cases, user stories, and audience dependent requirements specifications.
Project Management
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and appropriately escalating any roadblocks
- Support the complete lifecycle of applications, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Process Improvement
- Evaluates the effectiveness of existing processes, makes recommendations / introduces new ideas to streamline business processes.
- Enhance business processes, cost-benefit, operations, and information flow.
Solution Design
- Work with Data Engineer / Developers to build data solutions in Microsoft Azure that provide new data insights.
- Explore ways of integrating systems with Microsoft Azure.
- In consultation with end users develop dashboards and automated reporting solutions to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to design solutions that meet the business needs.
- Provides input towards the development and administration of standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree + 7-9 years of related experience.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, must be able to establish a course of action in an environment of conflicting priorities.
- Must have very strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and part of a team and meet important deadlines.
- Facilitation skills and business process mapping and analysis experience are essential.
- PMI-PBA/IIBA Certification considered strong assets.
- Knowledge of current programming and data analytics languages/tools. Statistical analysis skills are an asset.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects using strong time and task management skills.
- Experience working with different project methodologies like Agile, Iterative, Incremental and Waterfall.
- Experience leading and managing large scale process improvement initiatives.
- Process modeling and analysis skills including but not limited to information gathering, gap analysis between current and future state along with root cause analysis.
- Experience with AWS/Azure, Data Catalogs and Power BI is an asset.
- Comfortable analyzing large datasets, identifying inefficiencies, inaccuracies and making recommendations.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

$86,500 - $144,000 a year
