Allied is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Vancouver.

What will you do?

    • Collaborate with all departments to ensure smooth building operations.
    • Respond to tenant concerns in a timely manner and assist in finding appropriate solutions.
    • Record all services performed in the Yardi work order management system.
    • Respond to all tenant and Property Management tasks generated from the Yardi preventative maintenance system.  
    • Ensure all equipment and systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner and follow all applicable government codes and regulations.
    • Complete minor maintenance and repairs as required, including carpentry, drywall and paint, lamp replacement, lubrication of doors, washrooms and fixtures, among others
    • Ensure signage and lighting are in good working condition. 
    • Respond and assist with seasonal building requirements, including snow clearing and removal, salting and seasonal planting and watering.
    • Once approved, coordinate and schedule all required maintenance or repair and replacement with the appropriate subcontractor. 
    • Carry out execution of all preventative maintenance tasks as prescribed on all equipment and systems. 
    • Ensure service contracts are enforced, service levels are achieved and contractors are adequately supervised when on site. 
    • Maintain shop and equipment inventory and request replacement inventory as required. 
    • Maintain cleanliness and service of all common areas and mechanical rooms.
    • Assist all departments by completing event set up requirements, when necessary
    • Ensure compliance with any and all applicable government regulations. 
    • Comply with company policies and procedures at all times and ensure building standards and efficiencies are maintained. 
    • Respond to after hour calls and/or emergencies as part of an on-call rotation.
    • Monitoring, test and inspect building security system, fire alarm panel, and sprinkler system for proper operation and report any discrepancies. 

What are we looking for?

    • At least 2 years of experience in building operations or general maintenance in a commercial, retail or industrial environment. 
    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Strong, hands-on knowledge of general maintenance
    • Sound knowledge of building systems and emergency procedures. 
    • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) and First Aid and CPR training.
    • Knowledge of Provincial Building Code & Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial Fire Code and Electrical Safety Authority.
    • Experience in working at heights and use of booms and lifts an asset. 
    • An assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
    • Great time management skills and ability to prioritize work in order to deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames.

    • Good oral, written communication and customer service skills.

    • Adaptable to new ideas and change.
    • Computer literate (knowledge of Yardi/Angus Anywhere is an asset).
