About the Role:
As a Sr. Staff Software Engineer at Alluxio, you will be responsible for leading and evolving the state-of-the-art Alluxio project. The work would involve solving challenging problems in the area of Distributed Data Services, memory and data structure efficiency, thread concurrency, locking optimizations, caching policies and implementation.

As the Sr. Staff Software Engineer - Distributed Systems at Alluxio, What You Will Be Able To Build and Owner:
1.The role would include initiating, evolving and developing innovative architecture for scaling systems to thousands of nodes and providing data durability and high availability. 
2.The ideal candidate is an experienced software architect who has the ability to come up with creative architecture, design and solutions and lead team members to take them from concept to completion. 
3.You would own the product architecture and set the technical direction, working along with the product management.

As the Sr. Staff Software Engineer - Distributed Systems at Alluxio, What We are Looking For:
1.Having strong leadership qualities, with at least 2 years in a technical architect role
2.BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
3.Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, or Go.
4.Experience in architecture working with two or more from the following is a must: distributed and parallel systems, distributed storage systems, architecting large-scale software systems, and/or security software development.
5.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6.Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

As the Sr. Staff Software Engineer - Distributed Systems at Alluxio, We Would Appreciate If You Have:
1.Master’s, PhD degree, further education or equivalent practical experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field.
2.Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, or Go.
3.Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
4.Experience contributing to and/or maintaining an open source project.
5.Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative programming environment.
6.Contributed or contributing to Alluxio.
