About the Role
We’re on the hunt for a People Coordinator. Someone who’s organized, scrappy, and loves being the one others can count on to make things happen. This isn’t a sit-back-and-wait role. We need someone who spots what needs doing, jumps in, and gets it done. If you’re hungry to learn, thrive in fast-paced environments, and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to keep the People team engine running, you’ll love it here.
Note - This position is based out of downtown Edmonton and requires your physical presence in the office.
What You'll Do:
- Keep our HRIS (ADP) squeaky clean. Manage records, data accuracy, and reporting.
- Administer and lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless and compliant experience.
- Maintain and update employee files, policies, and documentation to support compliance with employment standards and company practices.
- Be the first point of contact for People questions — policies, programs, or “where do I find…?”
- Lead the rollout and engagement of our Learning Management System (TalentLMS).
- Partner with payroll to make sure changes are timely and accurate.
- Escalate and track employee relations issues (with discretion, of course).
- Be the “vibe keeper” in our Edmonton office — from snacks and swag to ordering coffee beans and working with building management.
- Run our recognition programs (Monkey Learnings & Lion Moments 🐒🦁).
- Support recruitment for associate/entry-level roles (posting, scheduling, and Mitacs coordination).
- Help coordinate student programs, career fairs, and People-related events.
What We're Looking For:
- 1–2 years of HR/People or office coordination experience (co-ops/internships count).
- Comfort with HRIS systems (ADP = gold star).
- Experiments with AI tools to work smarter, not harder.
- General HR knowledge (onboarding, compliance, payroll basics).
- Super organized, detail-driven, and always follows through.
- Friendly and approachable with solid communication skills.
- Loves solving problems and juggling priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Sees HR or Recruitment as a long-term career path and wants to grow into a well-rounded generalist.
