Through this internship, you’ll gain experience working predominately with the Behavioral Health team conducting research and policy analyses on a range of behavioral health topics including access to care, provider sharing of behavioral health information, and behavioral health integration with primary care.

    • Part-time, minimum 8-10 hours per week
    • Beginning in June 2023, ending no later than Aug/Sept 2023
    • Hybrid with remote work and coming to Ann Arbor office, to engage with staff 

Responsibilities:

    • Under the direction of the Practice Area Intern Preceptor and project managers, your work may include conducting research, developing presentations, and writing reports.
    • Work may involve creating training and workshop materials, coordinating training and/or consultation virtual meetings, and assisting with deliverables on large projects.
    • Create a directory of national behavioral health resources, including peer recovery support services
    • Complete an updated map of state certification and training requirements for peer recovery support services 
    • Help prioritize states based on readiness and need for adoption of peer support recovery services, behavioral health access and integration solutions
    • Provide ad hoc support related to proposal development
    • Research and coordinate communications to key behavioral health stakeholders in priority expansion states for behavioral health solutions
    • Develop and present capstone project based on internship experience and contributions

Qualifications:

    • Ability to work 8-10 hours per week
    • Must be currently enrolled at a college or university as a graduate student, in a related field (pursuing a public health or research based degree)
    • Particular interest and passion in the behavioral health field
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Experience in conducting library and internet research on best practices and policy topics
    • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to communicate in a professional manner within a team

Logistical Requirements:

    • At this time we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship 
    • Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your temporary employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract 
    • Michigan location or within driving distance to Lansing or Ann Arbor, Michigan is strongly preferred. If you are local to our office in Ann Arbor, this role will be hybrid 
    • Must be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your preceptor
