We are anticipating a VP opportunity soon that will lead some of Palladian’s largest integrated accounts; enable and empower clients to develop effective strategies to promote behavior change; create strategically targeted communications that inform, educate, and empower; and deliver results that improve millions of lives.
Our team is seeking a communications professional who is a self-starter with 12+ years of experience who possess excellent writing and oral communication skills, client management experience, and is a creative problem solver who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, working in a team environment and inclined to seek out challenges and opportunities. The candidate should have a solid understanding of strategic communications, including digital communications, and a robust attention to detail and an ability to maintain a positive relationship with demanding clients.
In this role you would lead large, integrated accounts and teams, and drive both organic growth and new business. You will be a hands-on leader that embraces our overall culture. We are a company of doers at all levels. This is a full-time, staff position located at Palladian's corporate headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, with the option for telework.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio ($3-5MM) of multiple clients, including client relationship management, team management and financial oversight
- Build and nurture client relationships by providing team leadership and strategic guidance to clients
- Define communications strategy and vision for client campaigns, plans, and engagement, including troubleshooting
- Lead large, integrated teams to execute communications strategy and ensure the highest standards
- Supervise 4-5 account directors and/or account supervisors, and oversee a group of 8-12 individuals (including those reporting into others within your account portfolio)
- Manage account directors in their contract-level performance, budget and management
- Manage communication teams by streamlining processes and identifying and proposing solutions
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction across the portfolio.
- Work with Palladian’s senior leaders to strategically recruit, hire, and develop people and teams
- Support growth, productivity, and impact in measurable, tangible ways
- Report out on client and team health to the senior leadership team
- Contribute to the development of new business proposals and pricing
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a college degree and 12 years of relevant technical experience, including at least five years of experience managing large, complex teams.
- Prior communications firm and/or government consulting experience is a must.
- Prior experience service as a client relationship owner leading integrated communication accounts
- Experience coaching and growing direct reports and motivating colleagues and junior staff
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects simultaneously and solve problems quickly
- Collaborative team player who works well as a manager and member of a multi-disciplinary team
