The Job
We are seeking a talented and experienced accounting leader to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing accounting functions, with a background in start-ups and cross-border experience. This position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated CPA professional with a mindset that is flexible to strategic shifts, willing to adapt, and pivot when required, contributing to the success and growth of our innovative company.

Responsibilities
End-to-End Accounting Management:
- Oversee and manage the entire accounting function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Take ownership of the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of accounting systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and related analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

International Accounting:
- Leverage cross-border experience to navigate international accounting complexities.
- Manage consolidation of multiple entities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements in various jurisdictions.

Startup Experience:
- Bring valuable experience in managing accounting functions within a startup environment.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting processes and controls to accommodate growth.

External Audits and Tax Filings:
- Coordinate and prepare for external audits, collaborating with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Manage tax filings in the United States, staying current with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and professional development.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address audit inquiries.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field.
    • CPA designation preferred.
    • Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager, with a focus on managing accounting functions.
    • Demonstrated experience in startups and familiarity with the challenges of a rapidly evolving business environment.
    • International accounting experience, including knowledge of international accounting standards and tax regulations.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to the growth of the sustainable fashion industry.

$180,000 - $220,000 a year
