About the Position:
The Youth Employment Initiative Project Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) in Los Angeles County. The initiative specifically targets justice-involved youth with disabilities, aiming to provide employment pathways and support successful reintegration into the community. The role involves managing a dedicated team, coordinating closely with key partners including the Department of Rehabilitation, local workforce development boards, the Probation Department, and the County Office of Education, and ensuring data-driven decisions for optimal outcomes.
What You Will Do:
- Supervise program staff, including Career Coaches, Employment Specialists, Workforce Development Navigators, and Job Developers. Substitute and perform duties of other staff when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with county, state, and federal regulations (including DOL, OMB, Probation, and Department of Rehabilitation requirements) as specified in contracts and agreements.
- Regularly coordinate with the Department of Rehabilitation, local workforce development boards, the Probation Department, and the County Office of Education to ensure cohesive program implementation.
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budget guidelines.
- Regularly communicate program status, potential risks, and accomplishments with senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain MOUs with partner organizations, clearly outlining roles, responsibilities, and procedures.
- Collect, aggregate, analyze, and utilize data to track outcomes and adjust program strategies accordingly.
- Mentor and coach staff to foster professional growth and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Implement quality control procedures ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with best practices in youth employment services.
- Address and resolve programmatic and personnel concerns effectively.
- Monitor and support employment service activities including intake, assessment, training, job search assistance, and workshops.
- Actively participate in staff meetings to maintain a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Supervise preparation and timely submission of required reports.
- Ensure compliance with Amity policies and procedures, federal, state, local regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Oversee daily management, ensuring services are inclusive and responsive to the needs of justice-involved youth with disabilities.
- Conduct regular visits and work a few days per month at Secure Youth Treatment Facilities (SYTF), specifically Barry Nidorf Juvenile Hall (Sylmar), Campus Kilpatrick (Malibu), and Dorothy Kirby Center (Commerce), to gain a comprehensive understanding of youth needs and coordinate closely with Workforce Development Navigators and case managers stationed at these sites.
- Attend Amity community-building activities and relevant stakeholder meetings, training, and events.

- As a condition of employment with Amity, a job offer will not be binding upon Amity until and unless Amity and the LA County Probation Department obtain satisfactory results from its investigation into your background
- Education and Experience:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, youth development, workforce development, rehabilitation counseling, or related fields, and two years of experience working directly with justice-involved youth with disabilities; OR
- High school diploma or equivalent AND four years of supervisory experience in youth employment, probation services, disability services, or related fields.
- Certifications or Licenses:
- Required:
- Obtain First Aid and CPR certification within six weeks of hire.
- Pass a physical examination and tuberculosis test conducted by a health professional.
- Valid California driver's license and eligibility for Amity vehicle insurance.
- Preferred:
- Familiarity with OMB regulations and compliance, especially 2 CFR 200 guidelines.

$70,000 - $75,000 semi monthly
