About the Position:
The SUD/ AOD Counselor I will perform an array of services that assist with obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. Coordinates the billing aspects of the rental payments and housing assistance services to ensure seamless payments to property owners providing housing to the individuals served.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
- Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum. Leads and participates in face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic processes.
- Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectation for participation and completion.
- Works directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate participants about supportive networks as they return to the community.
- Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, records visible changes in appearance, behavior and demeanor of program participants.
- Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential participant records. Evaluates and documents the progress of participants assigned to their groups.
- Completes all delivery documentation requirements. Summarizes participants’ background, treatment plan, and recovery process outcomes.
- Prepares accurate, concise, informative reports, records and plans that are consistent with Amity standards, and complies with applicable clinical and administrative rules.
- Liaise with transition/reentry staff, plans and prepares transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.
- Works collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS and institution staff. Supports and collaborates co-faculty, including but not limited to Supervisors, Directors and Regional Directors.
- Participate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum training, technical assistance training, or other training as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- SUD/AOD Apprentice Counselors MUST meet one (1) of the following minimum requirements:
- Less than FOUR (4) years of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor OR
- Registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by the DHCS, enrolled in AOD education classes and ONE (1) year experience OR
- Provide monthly, documented proof of meaningful progress toward AOD certification and compliance with an approved individual training and development plan which does not exceed TWENTY-FOUR (24) months to complete.

Hourly Range: $30 - $37 (Dependent upon Registration / Certification status)
