Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all parts of U.S. federal and state tax compliance.  U.S. federal and state tax compliance consists of preparation of all required documentation to prepare the income tax returns and indirect tax filings, including returns, estimates and extensions. Additional duties will include assisting with ownership schedules and workpapers, responding to notices, assisting with audits and tax research and planning.  Assist with fixed asset and lease accounting management, creating and entering the asset transactional activities for US GAAP, IFRS and Tax books in SAP. Additionally, the Senior Accountant prepares, examines or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards for U.S. GAAP.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Lead tax projects with outside service providers including transfer pricing, research credit calculations and documentation, and other tax related projects
    • Liaison with external tax preparers, lead the preparation and/or coordination of supporting work papers for tax returns, reviewing all tax schedules, identifying book to tax differences
    • Assist with the coordination of the tax compliance processes with outside service providers (if applicable) for all tax compliance
    • Assists with monthly close process including journal entry preparation and review
    • Performs and/or reviews account reconciliations
    • Evaluates trends, identifies and investigates unusual or unexpected account variances
    • Assists with the preparation of the annual audit report
    • Prepare audit schedules and assist the auditors in their inquiries
    • Participate in financial estimates, analysis of actual results vs budget, and business reporting
    • Proactively partner with their customers (site, function and/or business) to identify opportunities, resolve problems, and communicate potential risks or issues to management
    • Prepares other management and statutory reports, as required
    • Performs other accounting research as needed
    • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur

Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • 3-5 years tax accounting experience required
    • Strong understanding of Tax and GAAP principles
    • A team player that continues to gain knowledge and increasing tax experience with a successful track record of meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency, issue spotting, tax research and tax accounting support
    • Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
    • Experience with internal control process
    • Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage time effectively
    • Ability to work independently
    • Demonstrates the ability to be hands- on and the willingness to accept challenging projects outside areas of experience
    • Strong coordination, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills are required. Individual should be comfortable working with all levels and functions
    • Ability to identify and implement process improvements
    • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities while maintaining  positive attitude

Desired:

    • CPA a plus
    • Big 4 tax experience a plus
    • Partnership/LLC tax experience strongly preferred
    • SAP experience preferred
