The Business Excellence Analyst – Data Governance and Security establishes and maintains an effective data governance and security framework within the organization. Responsibilities include developing and implementing data and security governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data assets.  Additionally, the Analyst measures, monitors, analyzes, and reports on data governance and security adherence and controls. 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data governance and security goals, objectives, and strategies
    • Working closely with data owners and stakeholders to identify data and access requirements, define data quality standards, and establish data governance and security processes
    • Conducting data and security audits, assessing data quality, compliance, and identifying areas for improvement
    • Developing and implementing data governance and security controls, monitoring data usage and access, and ensuring compliance with approval procedures, data protection regulations and industry best practices
    • Designing, maintaining, and adjusting technical and business roles in SAP for compliance with business requirements and segregation of duties; provide day to day support to resolve security issues following procedure for approval
    • Guiding and supporting data stewards and data custodians, ensuring that they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining data quality and integrity
    • Ad hoc duties and projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

    • The ideal Business Excellence Analyst – Data Governance and Security should have a strong understanding of data governance and security principles, data management practices, and data protection regulations.  They should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with data governance and security frameworks, data quality tools, and data management technologies would be highly beneficial.
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data management, or information systems with a minimum of 8-10 years relevant working experience; Master’s degree a plus
    • Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or Certified Data Governance Professional (CDGP), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) highly welcome
    • Proactive self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with little oversight required
    • Strong business acumen with advanced critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Highly organized, able to multi-task and prioritize work while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams to collaborate effectively across all functions and levels
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to deliver clear and concise presentations
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP with knowledge of digital/automation tools a plus
    • Strong understanding of chemical industry a plus
