AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Water Resources Engineer, with 5+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing team of design professionals in our Mechanicsburg, PA office.  The right candidate would complete water resources engineering for transportation and bridge projects, drainage improvements, SWM remediation, erosion and sediment controls and stream restoration projects.

Responsibilities

    • Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of Water Resource related projects including SWM, erosion and sediment control and drainage design.
    • Designing open and closed storm drain systems and developing stormwater management systems.
    • Hydrology and hydraulics modeling of open channels, floodplains, and bridge hydraulics.
    • Production of construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
    • Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
    • Coordinate internally with other AMT engineers on a wide variety of projects.
    • Coordinate externally with clients and regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure project deliverables are complete, meet client requirements, and follow QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications

    • BS in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Equivalent
    • Professional Engineer license preferred; Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam required
    • Minimum 5 years of water resources related experience including design
    • Strong MicroStation/Geopak/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills.
    • Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, and similar)
    • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas.
    • Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within project teams.
    • Team-spirited, focused and able to make independent decisions.
    • Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills, both written and verbal
