AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Water Resources Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing Team of design professionals.  The right candidate could work from AMT's Virginia Beach, VA office on a combination of civil infrastructure and water resources projects with direct supervision and mentorship by our water resources divisional leadership.  In this role, you will support water resources tasks throughout the firm with a specialization in urban stormwater projects involving spot drainage improvements, flood mitigation, storm drain systems, and stormwater management including green infrastructure.

Responsibilities

    • Grow into a leading technical role for hydrology and hydraulics modeling, with engineering design, reporting and permitting support.
    • Coordinate internally with other AMT engineers on a wide variety of projects.
    • Coordinate externally with clients and regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure project deliverables are complete, meet client requirements, and follow QA/QC procedures.

Required Qualifications

    • BS in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years of water resources related experience including design
    • Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, and similar)
    • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and Professional Engineer or EIT preferred
    • Design experience with AutoCAD, and Civil 3D required
    • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills, both written and verbal
