A. Morton Thomas, LLC (AMT) is hiring a Survey Field Technician to work based out of our office in Washington, DC. This position requires NO previous survey experience. As part of this team, you will receive on the job training and support. Responsibilities

    • Perform field survey activities to support the survey crew chief
    • Field survey activities will include technical support: Operate survey instruments, levels, GPS, iPad, and data collector. Entry-level staff will be trained to operate survey instruments during the first year of employment
    • Field survey activities will include manual labor support: open and investigate utility manholes, set survey points with sledgehammer, set survey points on construction sites, stock survey supplies in survey vehicle
    • Perform daily field survey activities as directed by the survey crew chief

Qualifications

    • High School Diploma
    • Certified Survey Technician, Associates Degree, Bachelors in Land Surveying or GIS preferred
    • 0-1 years of experience
    • Entry level position
    • Basic knowledge of field surveying procedures desired but not mandatory
    • Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with team members
    • Positive attitude and professional bearing
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and develop personally and professionally
    • Must be service oriented and be excited to work in a team environment
    • Valid Driver’s License
