A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee owned consultant engineering firm, is seeking to add a dedicated and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our Washington, DC Office.

AMT currently holds multiple multiyear Engineering and Survey On-Call contracts with various state and local agencies performing transportation surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, 3D Scanning, and construction stakeout services.

Salary
$28-$34 per hour with optional overtime
Company Truck - Direct travel from home to jobsite w occasional office check-ins
AMT has developed a reliable system of allowing field staff the ability to direct travel to and from the   jobsite. This allows for a flexible work life balance while still accomplishing our project goals. Occasional office visits are used for project kickoffs and debriefs.

Responsibilties

    • Conducts, directs and oversees field survey process.
    • Captures accurate daily notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed.
    • Conducts boundary, topographic, construction surveys and other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in surveying
    • MDOT/SHA, DCDOT Experience for upcoming 5 year contract
    • Must have knowledge of field surveying procedures and ability to operate surveying instruments. Knowledge of GPS, engineering design software and total station and data collector. Familiar with CAD and Office Suite.
    • Positive attitude and professional bearing.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and develop personally and professionally.
