Amyris is looking for a candidate who is motivated to start or continue developing a career in EH&S to join our small but dynamic EH&S team. The EHS Technician will support R&D, Pilot Plant, and facilities, among others, to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations as well as conformance to company standards. 

Responsibilities:

    • Support daily EHS operations and respond to employee’s safety requests. 
    • Chemical Inventory tracking and reconciliation by checking existing lab chemicals against what is listed in the chemical inventory database and adjusting.
    • Organizing, updating, and archiving SDSs and reconciliation of SDS database.
    • Assisting with lab and pilot plant environmental monitoring and waste disposal needs.   
    • Order ergonomic supplies in a cost-effective and timely manner.
    • Upkeep of safety bridge site and facility safety signage with latest safety information.
    • Compile environmental and safety statistics.
    • Upkeep of employee databases for training and emergency notifications. 
    • Maintain, stock, and distribute EHS supplies (i.e., PPE, spill supplies, waste supplies).
    • Act as a first responder to incidents and participate in first responder team program.

Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum BS or BA in environmental sciences, safety, public health and/or or 1+ Years of experience in related field. 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Training on EHS subject matters preferred, including Hazardous Waste Generator RCRA Training, Hazardous Waste Shipper DOT Training, and HAZWOPER 40 Training.
    • Basic understanding of general laboratory safety processes, procedures, and requirements.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office programs including word, PowerPoint and excel.
    • Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Quick study with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
    • Must be able to work onsite, this is not a remote position. 
$32 - $42 an hour
