The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production activities within the facility, ensuring efficient and compliant operations. This role supervises production personnel, including Shift Supervisors, Chemical Operators, and Warehouse Technicians, to meet operational objectives while maintaining adherence to ISO 22716 - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for cosmetics.
The Production Manager collaborates closely with the Senior Operations Manager, Manufacturing and Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Quality Managers to drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement in production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure a safe work environment by actively participating in safety programs, audits, and committees.
- Uphold all company policies and procedures related to ISO 22716 - GMP guidelines for cosmetics.
- Take corrective action or suspend any activity posing a threat to employees, the community, the environment, or equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations.
- Production & Operations Management
- Oversee daily plant production, including scheduling batches, managing personnel, and ensuring shift coverage for planned absences.
- Issue batch records and monitor production to meet demand and quality standards.
- Track and manage precious metal consumption and recycling.
- Identify cost-saving measures and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Publish daily manufacturing output reports and communicate updates to off-shift employees.
- Participate in the Site Master Plan (SMP) process to support long-term operational goals.
- Personnel Management & Development
- Ensure all production employees receive mandatory and developmental training.
- Foster career growth by identifying opportunities for advancement within the team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and bonus reviews in alignment with company policies.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Work flexible hours as needed to meet operational objectives and respond to plant emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing and Engineering Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical plant operations
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to plant emergencies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a leadership role within chemical plant operations.
- Experience analyzing expenditures and process improvements to drive cost savings and efficiency.
- Knowledge of ISO 22716 - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for cosmetics.
- Familiarity with precious metal (Palladium) consumption tracking and recycling.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating machinery.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 65 pounds occasionally.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Must be capable of wearing a respirator as required.

The start pay for this role is $84,000 to $115,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis, and will vary based on the candidate’s skills, depth of experience and specific work location.
