As part of a high-performing team, the selected candidate will provide software development support to a mission critical effort in Chantilly, VA. This position is onsite with the potential for up to two days per week of remote support with customer permission.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the following areas:
- Development, integration, and production deployments.
- Software development in maintaining existing software and development of new systems.
- Lifecycle development of software systems using agile methodologies.
- Cloud computing.
- Writing complex queries using SQL and/or NoSQL systems.
- Scalable, high performance data storage and retrieval systems.
- Developing real time information collection applications.
- Python programming.
- Web application development.
- Working with multiple operating systems (Macintosh, Windows and UNIX).
- Shell scripting (sh, ksh, bash).
- Researching and tracking software flaws.
- Containerization and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure as code technologies (such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Cloud computing solutions such as AWS or Azure, including volume and indexed storage, compute instances, and cloud networking concepts.
- Android or iOS application development.
- Technical writing and presentation.
- Position requires an active Top Secret (TS) clearance and willingness/ability to obtain an SCI clearance if required by the customer.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Information Systems, or any related discipline.
- Experience with 3 or more of the following languages: Java, C#, C/C++, PERL.
- Understanding of complex mathematics and statistics.
- Proficient in XML, JSON, AJAX.
- Working knowledge of networking for programming over HTTP and/or TCP calls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand functional and technical specifications for new products.
- Work well under pressure, can meet tight deadlines, and is committed to work when required to complete projects.
- Experience in Android or iOS application development or desire/ability to learn this subject area.
