Anchorage is looking for a Head of Sales to lead our global revenue team and expand our reach as the leading institutional crypto platform. As a key member of the Anchorage senior management team, the Global Head of Sales will report to our Chief Operating Officer and collaborate across all departments on revenue strategy and operations.

The Global Head of Sales will set the direction and vision for revenue strategy, partnering with leaders to establish operational metrics and excellence to measure and ensure success across all products and services. Additionally, the Head of Sales will lead, motivate, and support a team across the US, Europe, and Asia. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering institutions to participate in the digital assets economy and demonstrated success scaling sales teams, including implementing and driving rigorous operational excellence in pursuit of long-term growth and success. 

Technical Skills

    • Apply unique and extensive Sales and Marketing expertise and experience from the cryptocurrency industry to provide insights, guidance, and leadership to promote increased top of funnel, new ideas, and innovative concepts. 
    • Function as an inspirational leader responsible for Anchorage’s strategic direction and growth.
    • Hold the Sales and Marketing teams accountable for the quality and output of their department, and advise on how to improve execution.

Complexity & Impact

    • Lead and coach successful and autonomous Sales and Marketing departments through revenue-driven strategies.
    • Anticipate and navigate unexpected roadblocks, ensure on-time delivery with high quality output, and prioritize effectively.
    • Identify untapped client segments and market opportunities to shape and improve our Sales and Marketing strategy globally.
    • Efficiently and resourcefully prioritize prospective clients and partners, at times making judgment calls based on ROI of the client.
    • Identify, influence, and/or resolve critical issues that have a clear impact on the direction of Anchorage, including spotting and making the case for projects that span multiple teams, or inventing new or novel projects.
    • Work with abstract ideas addressing future Sales and Marketing strategies and solve open-ended and ambiguous problems that have impact across Anchorage, clients, and/or profitability, and significantly contribute to our global success. 
    • Develop global strategic Sales and Marketing plans to ensure successful implementation of actions and objectives where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth and breadth knowledge of the company, competitive environment, technology, and economic or social implications to the business activities. 
    • Lead the development of corporate methods, techniques, and sales evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
    • Foresee internal and external factors that influence global strategies and Anchorage’s position in the market. 
    • Implement solutions with a longer term view that impact multiple functions across Anchorage.

Organizational Knowledge

    • Define the long-term Sales and Marketing strategies and value proposition of Anchorage, and sets the vision and strategic direction for the Sales and Marketing organization that connects to the success of Anchorage.
    • Prioritize competing requests to align with Sales and Marketing strategies and revenue growth. 
    • Translate the broader Anchorage strategy into multi-functional Sales and Marketing objectives, and set the vision and direction through resource allocation decisions for Sales and Marketing.
    • Maintain a pulse on the blockchain and crypto ecosystem to identify emerging  trends, areas of growth opportunities, and valuable partnerships.
    • Guarantee alignment and integration between initiatives, priorities, people, processes and structures in their department, the other departments and with the broader strategic priorities Anchorage.
    • Share potential changes through cross-functional collaboration to anticipate and prevent obstacles from hindering global and team performance.

Communication and influence

    • Handle internal and external strategic communication issues for Anchorage in high profile situations, and difficult on-the-spot questions. 
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to the broader senior leadership team and drive Anchorage’s international Sales, Marketing, and Partnership strategies. 
    • Engage and build appropriate rapport, with diplomacy and tact, and establish yourself as an inspirational leader whose knowledge, ideas, and critical thinking impact the strategic direction of Anchorage.
    • Be an active ambassador and role model of our culture and values both internally and externally.
    • Create formal networks with key decision makers and serve as external spokesperson for Anchorage.

Team Leadership

    • Lead the Sales and Marketing departments by using revenue-driven strategies. 
    • Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the Sales and Marketing department in alignment with the Anchorage strategy.
    • Continue to build a culture of innovation and growth within our high-performing Sales and Marketing teams.
    • Lead hiring, retention, and development of individuals across the Sales and Marketing teams. 
    • Define, coordinate, and reconsider priorities, including reorganizing resources as required to increase the capacity to respond to both internal and external demands. 
    • Evaluate the financial impact of decisions and develop strategies to address financial resource issues.
    • Plan growth of the Sales and Marketing departments and scale the team.
    • Mentor and coach senior individual contributors or managers on strategy, collaboration, influence, execution, and other aspects of leaders.
    • Inspire the Sales and Marketing team members to boost productivity and revenue growth by setting an ambitious vision and being clear about output expectations.

    • A superpower for operational excellence metrics, e.g. harmonized team structure with market focus, data driven account allocations, meticulous quota achievement, pipeline management and data indicators to inform business decision making; leverage data to refine bundle and product pricing schemes   
    • Creative and innovative approaches to prioritizing investments in sales, including a revised compensation plan, sales education, guest speakers, learning & development
    • Proven success that you can navigate the constantly changing demands of a high-growth startup.
