Area-I, an Anduril Company, is a  Metro-Atlanta  based company dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art unmanned aircraft systems designed for use by the United States Armed Forces. We specialize in the development of unmanned aircraft systems that eject from host platforms or modular launch systems. These platforms are designed to meet the specific needs of our customers, where we design, build, test, and ultimately deliver unique solutions to the customer. Area-I’s customers include the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, NOAA, and NASA.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Frontend Software Engineer with Area-I, you will be creating our frontend features and tooling, deploying them to users, and making sure the designs are meeting users' requirements. You will be working alongside a team of engineers and operators to create asset focused views capable of simplifying user workload without sacrificing capabilities. As an early member of the team, your decisions today will have a large impact on the company today and into the future. We believe that simple systems are easier to understand, maintain, and scale. You will be making trade-offs as you work to ensure that our systems are prepared to scale — being able to effectively communicate these trade-offs with your teammates is a must.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1+ years of experience in design/development of frontend applications
    • Good knowledge in JavaScript, QML
    • Experience with version control (git)
    • Good understanding of WebSockets, HTTPS protocol, RPCs
    • A good eye for design (UX)
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
    • U.S. Person Status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with the following:
    • Java and Kotlin experience desired
    • Adobe Suite and Figma
    • Helping define and develop custom mission workflows for Area-I's real-time, map based command and control application.
    • Helping define custom operator interactions with advanced vehicle systems and payloads
    • Working closely with our UI/UX architect to build easy to use features that preserve maintainability and scalability.
    • Supporting general maintenance and feature expansion of existing mission plug-ins.


The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
