Anduril’s Space team is seeking a Chief Mission Engineer to join our team. The Chief Mission Engineer is responsible for leading all aspects of developing a space product—from direct customer engagement that drives technical approaches, to deriving technical requirements from customer mission capability needs. Additionally, this position leads the organizing of engineering tasks, technical oversight and leads the technical trades toward development of mission capable space systems.

As the lead for Space Mission Systems Engineering, this person will be responsible for delivering integrated, best value mission outcomes. Orchestrating engineering activities across Anduril to ensure proper resourcing of engineering efforts, forecasting engineering support, and providing direct guidance and management of allocated engineering resources. This position will be responsible for all Space hardware programs engineering activities and will report directly to the VP of Engineering.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Supports customer engagements and related engineering analysis products to shape customer requirements.
    • Support proposal/capture efforts through technical engagement, writing, and supporting analysis.
    • Derives technical requirements from customer defined mission level needs.
    • Leads space product line architecture development within current and future Anduril family of products.
    • Performs technical trades and selects optimal solutions that align with win strategy and market demand.
    • Organizes engineering scope and team to quickly design, develop and delivery differentiated Space products.
    • Supports teaming decisions by assessing most viable technical approaches offered by supporting partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to possess and maintain a US Top Secret Security Clearance
    • Engineering Master's Degree or equivalent experience (15+ years)
    • Have led large space product teams as a Chief Engineer and/or a Lead System Engineer
    • Has experience as an IPTL on a large program leading to a positive product outcome.
    • Demonstrated space hardware and integration experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with MBSE approaches.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Candidates with multiple space hardware product experiences spanning the complete development cycle (From design to IV&T to on-orbit operations)
    • PhD in engineering or related discipline
