Summary/objective:

The People and Culture Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of responsibilities to support the daily operations of the department.   Duties including support of our team members on a day to day basis, ownership of full cycle recruitment, understanding of HR laws and regulations, working with other members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding processes for team members quality assurance and helping keep the company a great place to work while handling the behind the scenes logistics related to various regulations and requirements.

Essential functions

    • Facilitate hiring, screening and interview process of qualified job applicants for open positions 
    • Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Conduct intake interviews  with hiring managers and applicable persons as needed to verify and validate the need of positions being requested for hire. 
    • Recommend strategies to motivate employees and cultivate a culture of light
    • Update records and associated processes related to  team members and current work status in a timely manner (new hire, termination, leave, etc.)
    • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and with accuracy
    • Support People and Culture Manager and Director as needed 
    •  Produce, audit and submit reports on general HR activities an processes
    • Generate audits weekly and as needed related to  (401K, benefits, Cobra, etc.)
    • Implements and assists in new hire orientations and employee recognition programs as needed.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
    • Assist in development and implementation of people and culture/human resource policies, systems, and contracts
    • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate team members.
    • Attend and participate in team member coaching and support as needed 
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and compliance needs in  human resources and talent management.
    • Must attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings.
    • Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in the English language required.  Additional language proficiency is a plus.

    • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Required education and experience

    • At least two years of human resource experience is required.
    • At least one year of full-cycle recruiting experience is required.
    • Previous experience with HRIS and ATS systems is required.

Preferred education and experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field 
Work environment - When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy.

Physical demands - Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry 20 lbs. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Position type and expected hours of work - Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.
Travel required - Travel is not required for this position

Work authorization - Must be authorized to work in the United States.
