About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Employee Operations Lead to join our team and support our growing office in New York City. As the Employee Operations Lead, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining operational excellence for both our in-office and remote team members. Your deep understanding of the workplace and company culture will be essential in shaping the experience for employees and visitors in our NY office. You will be responsible for developing and managing employee operations programs; collaborating with various teams; automating processes; representing partner teams (such as People, Office, and IT); and building and managing relationships with key vendors across the workplace. As we expand our team, we are seeking a leader who has a passion for challenging priors and sweating the details.
You will:
- Partner closely with People, Office, IT, and other cross-functional teams to manage internal employee operations and create an exemplary internal office experience.
- Lead internal projects and programs to improve office operations and efficiency. These internal projects will have an impact on hub-office employees, company culture, travel programs, and other high-touch internal employee workflows such as onboarding.
- Plan and execute internal events and activities to foster a positive and collaborative employee culture, ensuring an exceptional employee experience.
- Oversee workplace and facility vendor management of the NY Hub to maintain an efficient and high-functioning office, including setting up automations (ex: using low/no code tools), onboarding new joiners, coordinating maintenance, and managing supplies and equipment to support day-to-day operations.
- Own vendor procurement and cross-functional contract renewals, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting some orientations, collecting required documentation, and coordinating with various departments.
- Monitor and manage workplace budget and expenses, ensuring cost-effective operations.
How Success will be Measured in this Role:
- Connection engagement scores in quarterly company-wide CultureAmp surveys and offsite travel surveys.
- Your ability to create a seamless office experience & efficient company operations that foster an environment where people can do their best work.
- Your ability to build trust and cross-functional relationships through responsiveness, action, and consistency.
Other characteristics of the ideal candidate:
- Ideally 6+ years in people operations or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with workplace software such as Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and work autonomously in ambiguous environments.
- You are a “culture carrier” whom actively promotes and embodies the company's values and beliefs daily interactions and decision-making. You lead by example.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Has a strong “excellence reflex” — when you see something that could be better, you fix it.
- Experience complying with local facilities, human resources, and business operations regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience managing People Programs - ideally travel or culture related programs.
- Bonus if you have previous experience negotiating vendors and experience in procurement.
- Bonus if you have familiarity with our tech stack: Asana, Notion, Zip, Ramp, Slack, Google, Zapier.

AngelList has offices in two hub cities: San Francisco and New York City. This role will be based in the NYC office - this person will be expected to come into the office at least two to three times per week (Tuesdays and choice between Wednesday or Thursday).
Compensation: The compensation for this role consists of a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity package. The base salary for this role is $125,000+ annually but actual will vary based on a number of factors including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Additional details about our Total Rewards package will be provided during the recruitment process.
