As a Project Manager for Data Center Construction Projects, you will serve as our client’s representative and be responsible for overseeing and advising on all aspects of their projects, from project inception to completion. Travel required 20-50% of time.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • As a Project Manager for Data Center Construction Projects, you will serve as our client’s representative and be responsible for overseeing and advising on all aspects of their projects, from project inception to completion. Your primary duties will include:
    • Project Planning and Execution: Oversee project and collaborate with team and stakeholders to ensure that project construction activities align with owner/client’s project goals, budget, and timeline including participating with team and stakeholders in reviewing detailed construction plans and schedules.
    • Resource Management: Make recommendations to owner/client on allocation of resources, including resourcing and Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE).
    • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Architect, Engineering team, and General Contractor (GC) to achieve project goals. Obtain, maintain and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities. Lead project meetings as applicable.
    • Quality Assurance: Oversee and advise on established quality control measures throughout the construction process including compliance with industry standards, building codes, and client requirements.
    • Safety Oversight: Participate in fostering a strong safety culture on-site and adhere to established safety protocols and regulations.
    • Project Management: Oversee and manage project controls, cost and performance activities and procedures, procurement, project logistics, organization, systems and project close-out.
    • Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures and maintain a close eye on the budget, advising the owner/client in a timely manner regarding cost-saving opportunities and overruns.
    • Schedule: Review and advise on construction schedule and critical path.
    • Risk Management: Assist in identification of risks in the construction process and development of risk mitigation plans to minimize project disruptions.
    • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress and milestones, providing regular updates to owner/client. Prepare comprehensive progress reports and address any issues proactively.
    • Change Management: Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget effectively, ensuring that all changes are documented, communicated, and approved by relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience/degree.
    • Minimum 1 year Data Center construction experience with strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) disciplines
    • 5-10 years of progressive project management experience.
    • Demonstrated functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with construction/project requirements.
    • Experience project delivery, construction scheduling, construction management processes and knowledge of construction means and methods.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills.
    • Proficient in reading and understanding contract documents, plans and specifications.
    • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and/or Primavera.
    • Understanding of CAPEX/OPEX funding
