We are looking for a Senior M&O Project Manager to join our growing buildings team!

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provides administrative oversight over a regional team of Resident Construction Engineers, Facilities Project Manager II, Facilities Project Manager I, Assistant Project Manager, Facilities Services Coordinator, administrative, and Contract Professional staff by monitoring their performance in the management of assigned construction, modernization, and repair projects.
    • Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements. Develops, assigns, and monitors performance of Owner Authorized Representatives relative to assigned construction projects.
    • Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules.
    • Assists regional directors and other Facilities management staff with bid and contract planning.
    • Assesses bid specifications for District need and probability of completion under stated timeline.
    • Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting.
    • Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects.
    • Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control.
    • Coordinates program activities with other District organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Design and A/E Technical Support, Facilities Contract Administration, Inspection Unit, Maintenance and Operations, and local districts.
    • Reviews and takes recommended action concerning disputes relative to construction projects.
    • Develops and recommends internal policies and procedures.
    • Assigns staff and projects, supervises staff activities, and evaluates performance.
    • Plans, directs, reviews, and participates in construction management training for staff.
    • Assists in developing or reviewing personnel management policies and procedures within the organization and assures that personnel programs and transactions conform to regulations and District policies.
    • May provide Provides constructability review of construction contract documents such as architectural, engineering, utility, and shop drawings and specifications.
    • May review change orders, requests for clarification, inspection reports, punch lists, nonconformance
    • reports, fire alarm systems, permits, establishes scope changes, DSA
    • Reviews, and determines any deficiencies in project design or construction.
    • Reviews all change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact on the District.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Education

    • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management OR
    • You may substitute experience on a year for year basis.
    • Minimum twelve (12) years full time professional experience in management and contract administration of various project scope development, planning, and design, budget and funding allocation and close-out of projects.
    • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in managing programs in a public or educational agency, with full responsibility for coordinating complex activities

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in managing multiple education or public agency programs concurrently is preferred
$156,000 - $170,000 a year
Pay may be more or less dependent on education, skills and experience
