Anser Advisory is seeking a Project Controls Analyst. The Project Controls Analyst responsibilities focus on the budgetary control system for projects, through the preparation of numerous cost reports, monitoring, analyzing, and demonstrating commitment to budget and forecast.
 
The Project Controls Analyst regularly interfaces with project managers, engineering leads, and project team members to maintain accurate, updated information on project cost/budgets.
 

Primary Responsibilities

    • Reviewing contractor and sub-contractor invoices and recommending approval.
    • Build good working relationships with the project team to ensure timely, accurate flow of cost-related information.
    • Perform the necessary research and assemble all information regarding current cost performances.
    • Develop integrated revenue/expense analysis, projections, reports, and presentations.
    • Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
    • Provide variance reporting and analysis to ensure any deviation from the project plan is highlighted, analyzed, and reported as directed.
    • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.
    • Performs budget, financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
    • Maintaining management tracking spreadsheets.
    • Pulling data queries.

Education

    • All applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of experience OR possess a high school diploma and greater than 7 years of experience in accounting / cost controls in the field or in a related area

Experience

    • 3 years of experience working within a regulated utility is preferred
    • Possess knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting principles
    • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
    • Must be able to self-manage and work well in a changing environment

Technical Skills

    • Proficient users of Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
    • Must be proficient in MS Excel (Pivot tables and V-lookups) at a minimum

Soft Skills

    • Must possess good written and oral communications skills and have proven analytical experience
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Superior time management skills; must be able to meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement, and solve problems
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff

Physical Skills

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Anser requirements
    • Must be able to travel to customer sites as needed
    • Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening
    • Full-time position located in: New Orleans, LA
$90,000 - $105,000 a year
