The Director, Engagement Leader will partner with clients and internal teams to understand business goals and marketing strategies, oversee the engagement management team assigned to their program portfolio, and will lead a cross-capability team to deliver creative thinking and solutions that meet the client objectives.

In addition, the Director will lead the charge in ensuring profitable delivery of client projects and programs, managing program budgets, including tracking against client revenue growth and forecasting, and setting delivery expectations internally and externally through clear and direct project documentation and communication. They will also be co-responsible for identifying organic growth opportunities and have a proven track record in maintaining and growing accounts through exceptional delivery. The Director reports to the VP, Engagement Partner and will be responsible for a book of business and the team delivering on it. This role is a combination of team leader and individual contributor, and the ideal candidate has extensive previous experience as a project or account manager in channel partner marketing and/or product management and has grown into a leadership role. 

What you will do:

    • Oversee engagement management team assigned to a specific book of business, who is responsible for managing client engagements with a focus on quality, budget and schedule in order to both set (i.e. plan and scope) and meet (i.e. deliver) contracted requirements
    • Monitor all assigned project processes and operations for time and resource efficiencies, cost management, and process improvement opportunities; oversee creation and maintenance of project artifacts including complex, integrated project plans, project setup activities, delivery status reporting, and proactive risk analysis and issue management
    • Identify opportunities to improve client and team dynamics, interactions and overall morale and collaboration within the delivery team (creative, strategy, analytics, and technology) assigned to book of business
    • Establish a communication management plan and effective project meeting and reporting cadence on assigned book of business to meet the needs of key stakeholders and clients
    • Monitor financial, team, schedule and quality health of all projects in their assigned portfolio and recommend course corrections to mitigate issues; provide Engagement Partner insight portfolio health and escalate as needed
    • Build and foster relationships internally and with the client to unlock future organic growth opportunities across existing book of business
    • Point of escalation for the internal team
    • Work with Client Partnership team and Engagement Partner to respond to RFPs, generate proposals and SOWs, and estimate work efforts and corresponding delivery related assumptions and dependencies
    • Have a constant eye towards budget and burn; ensure accurate revenue and resource forecasting; be accountable for project profitability and margin erosion; contribute other financial reporting as required by Client Partnership team and Engagement Partner
    • Responsible for staffing and team structure decisions on assigned projects; Maintain optimal utilization of internal team members and accurately identify when contract or fulltime staff augmentation is necessary

Background/ Experience:

    • 10+ years of client and project management experience in custom software development
    • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree preferred
    • Broad delivery expertise (management of scope, quality, budget, and risks)
    • Experience working with creative, strategy, analytics, development, & QA resources and a thorough understanding of related deliverables and processes
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize under ever-changing needs and schedules, handling multiple accounts at once while meeting tight deadlines and adhering to budgets
    • Adaptability; able to refocus team priorities and tasks, delegating effectively
    • Proven project management skills with an understanding of processes (timeline development, trafficking, risk management, etc.) and quality assurance/control (QA/QC) and project acceptance protocols 
    • Experience with financial processes for projects - includes forecasting, scoping/estimating, and burn rates
    • Team leader with strong interpersonal skills, including problem solving and conflict resolution, and the ability to articulate ideas clearly in both oral and written communication

    • Experience identifying growth opportunities for client programs and increasing scope of services in consideration of revenue growth goals
    • Killer presentation skills and the ability to command an audience while presenting to all levels within an organization
    • Self-motivated with effective decision-making skills
    • Demonstrated strong planning and organizational skills; highly detail-oriented
    • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
    • Experience with Jira and SharePoint a plus
    • Fluent with agile practices
    • Exposure to product customization preferred
