Hudson’s Bay Corp (HBC) is coming to India! We are in the process of setting up a wholly owned, integrated Global In-House Center, (GIC), in Bangalore to build a corporate team who will play an important role as HBC executes its strategic plan. This center will house approximately 450 highly talented individuals in the first two years and the office has potential to expand as the business grows. We will begin to build our team in Bangalore focused on Information Technology, Information Security, Finance and Accounting, and may then scale the operations to build capabilities in various other functions.

Reporting Relationships:
 
The Director – Record-to-Report is a leadership role within the HBC Finance & Accounting team reporting to the DVP Finance, HBC India.
 
 
This role will be expected to work a “North American” shift pattern, approximately 4PM – 2AM India time
 
Major Responsibilities
 
The Director – Record-to-Report has overall responsibility for the management and direction of the service delivery within HBC India in support of HBC’s General Accounting and Financial Reporting delivery functions, as well as related teams supporting Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Lease / Property accounting and Banking. This role is the “face” of the HBC India Accounting / Financial Reporting  team, and must demonstrate a high degree of customer orientation to meet the needs of internal “customers / business partners” with the onshore Finance team, as well as other internal partners including Information Technology, Store Planning and banner Finance teams.  The incumbent will be responsible for the overall quality of service delivery for the Accounting / Reporting team in India, including acting as an escalation point to resolve and correct any issues / concerns raised by the onshore Finance teams. This role will also form an integral part of the HBC India Finance team in providing insights into building out a successful HBC GIC.
 
The position will provide management and oversight over the General Accounting / Financial Reporting teams and will be key point of contact for the onshore process owners to review service performance and will act as the escalation point for any issues.  The role will be a key participant in the end-to-end process management structures for Accounting / Reporting and will work to continuously improve and optimize the processes.  This will include taking part in regular meetings to review the performance of the HBC India resources and support process and technology projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
 
Primary Role responsibilities include:
 
·         Provide management direction and leadership to the Record-to-Report teams to ensure all activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner and in full compliance with HBC policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely auditing of sales and sufficient control over cash
·         Lead the Service Delivery / Execution for the Record-to-Report function and sub processes (General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Real Estate / Property Accounting, Banking) in order to ensure an efficient, effective and cost effective service to HBC.
·         Support cost leadership and ensure key performance indicators (Quality, Time, Cost of Delivery) are within targeted service standards.
·         Review and report on daily processing targets, and take action to address any service delivery issues
·         Ensure adherence to Procurement and Finance policies, internal control and audit requirements, and service standards at all times
·         Analyze and research all discrepancies/exceptions in the process
·         Consistently monitor key performance parameters of the process and identify and implement new ways to improve the quality of work as well as the means of working on processes
·         Interact with Internal / External auditors as required
·         Work with Record-to-Report stakeholders within the onshore teams to optimize the end-to-end Record-to-Report processes across HBC
·         Ensure that all Record-to-Report processes are well documented in accordance with HBC standards
·         Develop and grow strong relationships and communications internally and externally (agencies, vendors, etc.) to ensure alignment of expectations and to develop efficiencies where possible.
·         Support the transformation of the function, by playing an active role in Organization restructuring, change management and deployment of governance frameworks.

The successful candidate must be a proactive self-starter with a dynamic and resilient nature able to work and lead in a fast-paced, Ability to work in an ambiguous, complex, challenging and fast-paced environment.  The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strict adherence to deadlines.  He/she should be able to think out of the box and challenge the status quo while being extremely well organized and detailed oriented with demonstrated follow-up skills.
 
He / she will have strong customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.  They will demonstrate proven ability to engage with stakeholders across the business and provide critical input to business teams.  Must be a strong problem and have conflict resolution skills. This individual must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to partner with internal and external parties to drive resolution and continual progress. He/she will have the ability to lead in a continually challenging environment, including demonstrated management skills.
Professional Qualifications
·         Strong financial aptitude with Min 15 years of work experience in Corporate Finance with MNCs/GICs, with preference to Retail industry focused on General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets and Property / Real Estate functions
·         Min 10 years supervisory / people management experience
·         Experience in Oracle ERP (Oracle Fusion Preferred) (is Hyperion expertise a requirement)
·         Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
·         Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement methodology required  (Black belt preferred)
·         Demonstrated expertise in design and implementation of financial processes and technology
Demonstrated success in Leading and managing teams and directing multi-functional business units
·         Strong working experience in General Accounting / Financial Reporting processes including involvement with the following:
