The Team Lead – Sales Audit is responsible for all aspects of service delivery by the HBC India team in support of the company’s Sales Audit processes.  This role will be the day-to-day leader of the HBC India Sales Audit processing team, and must demonstrate a high degree of customer orientation to meet the needs of internal “customers / business partners” with the onshore Finance team, as well as other internal partners including Information Technology and banner Finance teams. The incumbent will be responsible effective management of the Sales Audit team in India, including acting as an escalation point to resolve and correct any issues / concerns raised by the onshore Finance teams.
 
The position will provide management and oversight over the Sales Audit processing activities performed by HBC India including exception handling, Processing of POS adjustments, Cash balancing and sales clearing.

Primary Role responsibilities include

    • Oversee team responsible for daily, monthly sales audit activities in a timely and efficient manner and in full compliance with HBC policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely auditing of sales and sufficient control over cash
    • Achieve daily processing targets
    • Ensure adherence to Sales Audit policies, internal control and audit requirements, and service standards at all times
    • Analyze and research all discrepancies/exceptions in the process
    • Effectively plan, prioritize and execute everyday floor operations
    • Consistently monitor key performance parameters of the process and identify and implement new ways to improve the quality of work as well as the means of working on processes
    • Interact with Internal / External auditors as required
    • Manage sales transaction backlog and expedite processing as required.  Work with onshore team to resolve issues impacting sales audit processing
    • Manage HBC India resources to support Sales Audit activities including:
    • Exception handling (missing, reject, offline)
    • Process POS adjustments, Balance DC sales, cash settlement
    • Analyze Unmatched Debit and Credit Card Transactions
    • Sales Clearing, Cash Clearing and Accounts Reconciliations             
    • Investigate POS difference reports and Over/short
    • Recon. Unmatched bank card and gift card transactions
    • Prepare reconciliations and period end journal entries
    • Oversee the provision of information and analysis concerning POS terminal over/short issues, store associate training, associate POS errors, customer inquiries, liability reconciliations and policy revisions pertaining to sales procedures.
    • Provide Sales Audit reporting – daily, weekly, monthly and on-demand.
    • Assisting outsourcing group and stores with questions and gift card issues.
    • Oversee the security levels assigned to each sales audit associate to ensure the integrity of sales and ensure compliance with HBC internal control requirements.
    • Oversee the research of leased sales, commission sales and other departmental sales issues and communicate findings to internal management (including VP’s, directors and managers).
    • Research for escalated issues coming from the stores, call centers, Loss Prevention and onshore team.
    • Assist management in the upkeep of the Sales Audit systems, including testing for various projects

Professional Qualifications

    • Strong financial aptitude with Min 6 years of work experience in Corporate Finance with MNCs/GICs, with preference to Retail industry focused on Sales Audit functions
    • Min 3 years supervisory / people management experience
    • Experience in Oracle ERP (Oracle Fusion Preferred) and Sales Audit systems, Aptos (Epicor) preferred
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement methodology required  (Black belt preferred)
    • Demonstrated expertise in design and implementation of financial processes and technology
    • Demonstrated success in Leading and managing teams and directing multi-functional business units
    • Strong working experience in Sales Audit processes including involvement with the following:
    • Exception handling (missing, reject, offline)
    • Process POS adjustments, Balance DC sales, cash settlement
    • Analyze Unmatched Debit and Credit Card Transactions
    • Sales Clearing, Cash Clearing and Accounts Reconciliations             
    • Investigate POS difference reports and Over/short
    • Recon. Unmatched bank card and gift card transactions
    • Prepare reconciliations and period end journal entries
    • Educational Credentials
    • B. Com (Mandatory) or MBA Finance (preferred)
    • Chartered Accountant
