Role Profile 
Company Description 
Hudson’s Bay Corp (HBC) is coming to India! We are in the process of setting up an integrated Global InHouse Center, (GIC), in Bangalore to build a corporate team who will play an important role as HBC executes its strategic plan. This center will house approximately 450 highly talented individuals in the first two years and the office has potential to expand as the business grows. We will begin to build our team in Bangalore focused on Information Technology, Information Security, Finance and Accounting, and may then scale the operations to build capabilities in various other functions.

Reporting Relationships: 
 
The Accountant-Corporate Finance will report to the Senior Manager- Finance as part of the HBC India internal Finance & Accounting team. 
 
 
Major Responsibilities 
 
The Accountant – Corporate Finance will be responsible for supporting internal accounting and reporting activities for HBC including General Accounting and Financial reporting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Intercompany and Fixed Assets activities.  This role will be responsible for recording all transactions within HBC financial system (Tally) and to ensure the overall integrity and accuracy of financial results.  The role will work both with stakeholders within HBC, as well as with the Finance & Accounting team in Toronto to support consolidation of local financial results into HBC’s overall financial records.   
 
Primary Role responsibilities include:  
 
1. Record/ process accounting transactions related to HBC including:  Accounts Payable – coding and recording approved invoices in HBC Financial system (Tally) in a timely manner to ensure prompt vendor payment  Payroll – work with outsourced payroll provider for Payroll processing and payment of HBC associates  Record accounting entries and transactions as part of period close activities  Support local regulatory financial reporting and tax 
 Record intercompany transactions as part of monthly financial reporting / close process 2. Work with onshore HBC Finance team to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial results and timely completion of all regular accounting transactions per the close schedule and published requirements 3. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the books of account and the financial information generated 4. Supports the preparation of regulatory and statutory reporting and support month-end and year-end close process in accordance with HBC policies and timetables 5. Supports completion of local, state and government reporting requirements including tax filings 6. Provision of financial results to support preparation of overall HBC consolidated results in accordance with agreed format/timelines 7. Ensures compliance with HBC’s financial policies and internal controls and manages the local audit of financial statements for external reporting and tax filings

The successful candidate must be a proactive self-starter with a dynamic and resilient nature able to work and lead in a fast-paced, Ability to work in an ambiguous, complex, challenging and fast-paced environment.  The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strict adherence to deadlines.  He/she should be able to think out of the box and challenge the status quo while being extremely well organized and detailed oriented with demonstrated follow-up skills.  There should be evidence of a high degree of attention to detail and focus on the integrity of accounting and reporting of financial transactions and results. 
 
He / she will have strong customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.  They will demonstrate proven ability to engage with stakeholders across the business and provide critical input to business teams.  Must be a strong problem and have conflict resolution skills. This individual must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to partner with internal and external parties to drive resolution and continual progress.  
 
Professional Qualifications 
 Strong financial aptitude with 5 plus years of work experience in Corporate Finance with MNCs/GICs, with preference to Retail industry focused on General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Payroll and other transactional Finance activities  Experience in the development and implementation of internal accounting processes as part of a “start up” operation in a Shared Service / MNC environment  Strong working experience in Tally  Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)  Strong working experience in General Accounting / Financial Reporting processes  
Educational Credentials 
MBA Finance  Chartered Accountant

Office Hours 
This role will be expected to work an “Indian” shift pattern, but with the understanding that there will be the need for overtime / late work to respond to requests / meetings with onshore HBC Finance team during period end close
