The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced CAD & PDM Manager with a solid background in hardware and industrialization engineering to elevate our design infrastructure and processes at ANYbotics. In this strategic role, you will lead the evolution and optimization of our CAD and PDM environments—ensuring that our tools, standards, and workflows enable high-quality, scalable product development across engineering disciplines. You’ll define and enforce robust engineering guidelines, release frameworks, and design governance processes that support the reliable production of ANYmal, our advanced robotic inspection platform.

With the complexity of our systems demanding tight integration across mechanical, electrical, software, and production engineering, this role is best suited for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and technical leads to drive consistency, traceability, and efficiency across the entire product lifecycle—playing a critical role in shaping how our robots are designed, built, and brought to market.

The Market & Our Technology

ANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware.

Your Contributions:

    • Responsible for the overall CAD and PDM tool landscape incl. defining engineering processes and system maintenance 
    • Support mechatronics-driven project development by optimizing CAD and PDM systems to improve the scalability, reliability, and quality of robot production data
    • Integrate scalable engineering and production data management into our IT system, collaborating with production experts to proactively mitigate risks in industrialization and certification processes
    • Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical and industrialization engineers to enable sustainable and scalable production data management for our products
    • Support a culture of fast learning and de-risking of new approaches while continuously finding creative ways to speed up the development process and enhance production data quality
    • Responsible for the training of engineering staff on CAD and PDM processes and tools

Your profile:

    • Extensive industrial experience (min. 10 years) with a proven track record on CAD and PDM systems (SolidWorks)
    • Industrial experience in development processes and manufacturing data management.
    • Industrial experience in design of parts for complex machinery
    • Experienced in creating engineering guidelines and conducting tool training for engineering staff
    • Experience using DIN/ISO tolerance norms for technical documentation
    • Good command of English both written and spoken

Bonus Points:

    • Previous experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
    • Bachelor or Master’s degree from an University or University of Applied Sciences
    • Previous experience with robotics or complex mechatronic systems
    • Knowledge of electrical engineering
