The Opportunity

Join the Pioneers at ANYbotics, a robotics scale-up company headquartered  in Zurich, Switzerland, as our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Robotics. Lead our robotics engineering team into a new era of innovation and scale, driving the development to accelerate our robotic systems' production from hundreds to thousands of units per year. In this role, you and your team will expand our robots' capabilities, venture into dexterous manipulation work, and innovate on next-generation platforms.

As a core member of the Leadership team, you will drive the company strategy and represent ANYbotics internally and externally, ensuring our position as a leader in pioneering autonomous robotics applications in industrial environments. 

This role is instrumental in shaping the future of robotic automation, contributing to our vision of transforming industrial operations into safer and more sustainable environments globally.


The Company & Our Team

We are on an exciting mission to transform the way autonomous robots automate and digitize industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. At the forefront of our product line are our autonomous legged robots, ANYmal and ANYmal X, which are powered by our advanced AI capabilities throughout our software stack.

Celebrating recent milestones and breakthroughs in our technology, we focus on our post-Series B journey, seeking an experienced leader to scale our ambitions. Reporting directly to Co-founder and CEO, Dr. Péter Fankhauser, you'll be joining a visionary team committed to maintaining world-class quality and innovation. You will lead our growing interdisciplinary robotics team consisting of a total of 40 highly talented mechanical, electrical, software, verification, and certification engineers.

Your Contributions

    • Strategically lead the robotics technology direction as ANYbotics scales its product innovation and production volumes
    • Enhance product maturity and uptime to world-leading industrial-grade levels
    • Spearhead innovation, developing next-generation robots with advanced AI/ML capabilities and new manipulation functionalities
    • Balance immediate business needs with long-term goals, ensuring the team is aligned with clear, achievable objectives
    • Foster an effective and efficient engineering team culture, striking the right balance between speed and high-quality product development
    • Attract, retain, and inspire top talent, positioning ANYbotics as a premier employer in the tech industry
    • Collaborate with the Leadership team, including the CTO Solutions and COO, to shape business strategy, anticipate challenges, and seize opportunities
    • Represent ANYbotics to the Board, investors, and the general public as a leader of the company

Your Profile

    • Demonstrated leadership in international and multicultural settings, with a history of scaling production for complex mechatronic/robotic products
    • Strong technical background in systems engineering, with expertise in development methodologies, industrialization, and synchronizing hardware and software development
    • Proven experience in leading high-tech innovation processes and transforming high-tech concepts into production-ready designs
    • Successful track record of building and leading large teams in agile, fast-moving environments
    • Masterful communication skills, capable of inspiring both internal teams and the broader industry with a clear vision
    • Well-connected in the mechatronics industry, with a solid network among manufacturers, suppliers, and potential partners
    • Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance within sectors featuring complex safety regulations
    • A history of execution excellence, delivering outstanding results at scale
    • Motivation and capacity to move to Switzerland to lead the team on-site for a majority of the time
