We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in designing, developing, and testing electronics for communication with satellites, air vehicles, and UAVs. Your expertise in digital and mixed-signal circuit design, digital system simulation, high-speed digital circuits, and the use of various CAD and simulation tools will be instrumental in our projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communication with satellites, air vehicles, ground stations, and UAVs.
- Drive system trades, capture requirements, select components, perform analysis, capture schematics, lay out PCBs, prototype, conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, document designs, manage manufacturing, and perform testing for complex electrical designs.
- Collaborate closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines (mechanical, thermal, software, test engineering, supply chain, etc.) to deliver tightly integrated, high-performance hardware.
- Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, utilizing lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and basic software debugging tools.
- Write and execute verification test plans, test procedures, and test reports for avionics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with digital and mixed signal circuit schematic capture and board design, including: microcontrollers, processors, memory interfaces, digital interface buses, point of load power distribution
- Strong experience with digital system simulation, analysis, and design of high-speed digital circuits
- Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
- Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
- Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits, power electronics is a plus.
- Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
- Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and others acceptable), Simulations tools - ADS, HFSS, SPICE
- Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, and ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines

$90,000 - $140,000 a year
