About the Role

We are seeking a driven and eager-to-learn recent or anticipated graduate for an IT Intern role. As an IT Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our teams' operational efficiency by providing timely IT support. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of information technology, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our IT systems and processes. Our team of experienced IT professionals will provide daily support and mentorship, preparing you for the next phase of your IT career. Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting Lines: This role reports to the IT Manager
Contract Duration: 3 months

Your day-to-day:

    • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and help develop solutions.
    • Identify, research, and resolve routine technical problems of low complexity.
    • Support with fixing PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software;
    • Identify and escalate priority issues that need to be handled at a different level, and do the necessary follow up of users concerns.
    • Develop and maintain user guides and documentation
    • Participate in user training for basic hardware and software use
    • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements:

    • Pursuing a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Information Technology. Recent graduates with a focus on IT are encouraged to apply. 
    • Successful candidates should commit to full-time availability during the three-month program spanning from February to April, 2024. 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate in a multicultural team setting. 
    • The ideal candidate should possess analytical skills, prioritize tasks effectively, and complete assignments with minimal supervision within specified deadlines. Initiative, flexibility, friendliness, and cooperation are highly valued traits. 
    • Candidates with proven expertise in Computer Networking, IT Support, or Linux Administration will be given preference.
