Are you an experienced product manager excited to work with developer tools that help the biggest companies around the world connect and orchestrate their APIs with GraphQL? As the Developer Experience Product Manager at Apollo, you'll lead product vision for the core capabilities that enable enterprises to adopt and scale Apollo's industry-leading API composition platform, GraphOS, across their organizations. You'll own our entire suite of developer tools—GraphOS Studio (our SaaS application for developing and managing GraphOS environments), Rover (our command-line interface), IDE extensions for VSCode and IntelliJ, and local development tools like GraphOS Sandbox—while exploring how emerging technologies like AI can transform the developer experience through initiatives like our recently launched Apollo MCP Server. In this role, you'll work directly with engineering teams at companies like Wayfair, The New York Times, and Coinbase, to understand their challenges and build solutions that make GraphQL development delightful at any scale. You'll define and drive Apollo's vision for the developer ecosystem, build roadmaps that balance immediate developer needs with long-term platform evolution, and ship features that meaningfully improve how developers build, manage, and operate distributed graphs. If you're passionate about developer tools, have a track record of driving adoption of technical products, and want to shape how the world's best engineering teams build modern APIs, we'd love to talk to you.

Why This Role, Why Now

    • AI is transforming developer tools: Our MCP Server bridges AI and GraphQL, letting developers connect AI to GraphQL in minutes. The Future of MCP is GraphQL | Apollo GraphQL Blog. You'll define how AI assistants help developers build faster, debug smarter, and ship with confidence.
    • Proven market leadership: GraphOS powers the APIs of some of the largest and most successful companies in the world. Your work impacts how the world's best engineering teams operate.
    • Developer experience is the differentiator: As GraphQL matures, the focus shifts from "why GraphQL?" to "how do we make GraphQL work well for our teams?. You'll own the tools and experiences that help developers succeed with GraphOS at every stage of their journey.
