Duration: 24 weeks (6 months)
Capacity Distribution: Each intern will work on the following topics in 2-month cycles during their internship

Aposto is a subscription-first news and lifestyle service designed to help readers effortlessly discover modularized information for a satisfying, reliable, and healthy digital media diet. We create written and recorded stories, build online publications, and develop digital products at the intersection of journalism, publishing, technology, and design.Within Aposto Editorial, we explore various art forms, evaluate economics and politics with our editors and experts in the field, and shape content through articles, podcasts, and other editorial mediums. As an editorial intern, you will work with intelligent individuals and institutions in Turkey and beyond, share their experiences, and contribute to shaping the world of written and multimedia content.

At Aposto Editorial, we aim to curate, create and circulate engaging and insightful journalism covering diverse aspects of life such as politics, economics, sustainability, and art. We distinguish our content with innovative formats, unique editorial perspectives, and a commitment to quality.

Role:

In this program, you will work closely with Aposto's senior editors and editorial team, learning how engaging content is created. Your role in this program will mostly consist of: Editing and curating news for our daily news newsletter Aposto Gündem and other categoric digestsWorking with senior editors to create compelling articles for Aposto Original Editing and curating Aposto Original Content and branded articles.

Program Description:

The Editorial Internship Program is designed for senior undergraduate and graduate students studying journalism, communication, or related fields. You will have the opportunity to work with the Aposto Editorial team in various editorial projects and gain hands-on experience in content creation and curation.

What you will do:

Write: Curate and edit articles for the blog and online publications, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to Aposto's editorial guidelines.
Writing and Editing: Craft and edit articles, ensuring they meet Aposto's editorial standards for accuracy, tone, and style.
Research: Conduct research on various topics to contribute valuable insights and data to articles.
Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team and other interns to collaboratively produce high-quality journalism.
Feedback: Receive feedback from the editorial team and senior editors on your assignments and completed work.


Your profile

    • Senior undergraduate or graduate student in Journalism, Communications, or a related field demonstrating a deep understanding of editorial processes and journalism.
    • Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and a keen sense of storytelling.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • High-level problem-solving skills and ability to manage tight deadlines.
    • Understanding and ability to follow editorial guidelines and processes.

What you will learn and achieve in six months

    • You will have the opportunity to network and work with renowned creators, institutions, and brands within and beyond Turkey.

Program Road Map

    • First Month: Introduction, meeting with the team, and learning how Aposto Editorial operates on a daily basis. Distribution of assignments and learning how each specific project is produced. Receiving feedback from the Editorial Team and senior editors regarding adaptation and collaboration.
    • Three Months: Effectively completing assigned tasks within production operations such as editing, peer checking, writing, and research. Cooperating and collaborating with the Editorial Team and other interns. Reporting fully to senior editors. Receiving feedback from the Editorial Team and senior editors regarding assigned duties and completed work.
    • Six Months: Completing daily operations smoothly, contributing to new and ongoing projects with creative insights. Improving present projects with engaging ideas. Receiving feedback from the Editorial Team and senior editors regarding the internship duration on the basis of technical advancement, creative production, and collaboration.
