Job Description Summary
The focus for this Senior Project Manager role is not technical knowledge, but the ability to lead a team in-person and organise and communicate well with that team as well as the client stakeholders. The Project Manager role is a leadership position accountable for the successful delivery of a portfolio of work to a client (s). The Project Manager orchestrates a team of supervisors and engineers in the performance of their duties including but not limited to delivering contract obligations of the highest quality in the most efficient time.
Position Summary
The On-site Project Manager role is a leadership position accountable for the successful delivery of a portfolio of work to a client (s). The Project Manager orchestrates a team of supervisors and engineers in the performance of their duties including but not limited to delivering contract obligations of the highest quality in the most efficient time. The Project Manager provides inputs towards Appen developing people to meet current and future client needs and how to maximise delivery efficiencies and ensure team is capable of evolving/ scaling to meet future growth. Additionally, the Project Manager may lead internal initiatives and contribute towards developing best practice at our facility. The Project Manager will work collaboratively, supporting a virtual environment, with Appen’s Client Services team to meet all stakeholder requirements.
Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:
Develop and drive project plans and objectives to meet project scope, timeline and budget.
Develop and execute delivery and quality management plans to support a project end-to-end in a matrix environment.
Develop and mentor various on-site project team members to drive team key performance metrics and meet or exceed project & program targets.
Drive continuous project improvements and efficiencies.
Lead internal initiatives, managing stakeholders.
Contribute towards developing best practice at our facility in Birmingham.
Analyze and evaluate statistical reports to proactively identify and improve project performance and Client deliverables. Communicate in a timely, clear and concise manner to stakeholders including Staff, Clients and Leadership.
Adapt to changing program needs and expectations.
Has to work from our facility in Birmingham (Aston) Monday-Friday to help manage and support the team there
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 4 years of project management experience in a metric-driven setting, working in a technology-oriented or services organization.
BS or BA degree from an accredited University or equivalent work experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills including an ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing or verbally to a wide audience including clients, managers and senior leaders; effectively uses active listening skills.
Experience managing client relationships with a demonstrated focus on delivering high level customer service and quality improvement.
Experience managing internal strategic initiatives.
Maintains a high level of business acumen and is able to lead process improvement and innovation while driving efficiencies and change.
Able to effectively coach and train peers and team members
Proven analytical skills including the ability to proactively identify problems, gather information and drive course of action for self and othersInnovative thinker who drives self and others in the development and implementation of new ideas; unafraid of taking risks to accomplish corporate level goals.
Flexible, independent, motivated self-starter who can establish a course of action for self and others and drive initiatives to completion.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an environment characterized by constant change, ambiguous data and a fast-paced, deadline-driven culture; able to respond quickly and proactively to new or changed initiatives.

£42,000 - £60,000 a year
