AppZen is located in San Jose, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Director or Director of FP&A reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

As the Senior Director or Director of FP&A, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company by developing strategic financial plans, overseeing the annual and long-range planning and budgeting process, and providing insightful analytical support to key stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team. We are seeking a hands-on manager with experience in start-up environments and team development. Embracing change and supporting future growth will be key.

This role is expected to commute into the San Jose office three days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays).

Responsibilities:

    • Partner with leadership across the company to deliver a strategy for long-term, efficient growth and establish the financial framework for reinvestment
    • Drive data-driven decision support and story-telling to the organization by compiling inputs and underlying assumptions, coupled with knowledge and expertise in business areas 
    • Liaise and collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional leaders to obtain assumptions, identify key metrics, assess impacts, and run sensitivity/scenario analysis to provide decision support
    • In addition to strong management skills, this role is best suited for someone who knows when to remain hands-on and be accountable for personal deliverables
    • Analyze our pipe generation to find opportunities to increase volume and conversion rates
    • Prepare presentations in support of board meetings and monthly/quarterly senior leadership meetings of the company
    • Build scalable processes and systems to provide transparency and efficiency across the organization
    • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources

Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of FP&A experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles at a SaaS company
    • Demonstrate a sense of curiosity as to the financial implications of company activities. Have a big picture view of the Company, while being able to dig into details when needed
    • Works well across various teams with strong project management skills to coordinate between multiple groups in order to deliver projects on time
    • Have experience leading an FP&A function and implementing best practices
    • Demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship skills to develop and manage a high-performing team
    • Possess exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to navigate complex financial challenges
    • Possess strong financial modeling and analytical skills; comfortable producing flexible financial models based on loose and fluid assumptions, comfortable working in ambiguous situations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to summarize detailed information in order to make actionable recommendations
    • Ability to deliver information about issues in a timely and objective manner
    • Creative, proactive and forward-thinking. An individual who looks for opportunities to drive continuous improvement
$230,000 - $280,000 a year

The base pay range for this role is listed above. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
