About this Position
The Storage & Data Service Delivery team owns end-to-end design and maintenance of information storage solutions as well as building high performance, scalable data solutions that meet Mobility’s rapidly growing demand. Additionally, this resource will keep storage and data systems up to date, stable, and secure. This role will receive direction from the Infrastructure Services Lead and will work in close conjunction with the Business Relationship Manager to understand each Mobility business unit’s specific needs, while consulting with the Architecture, Strategy, and Innovation Lead to ensure solutions comply with established architecture.

Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Define the cloud-first, storage and data services strategy in collaboration with the Infrastructure Services Lead
    • Establish storage and data technology lifecycle roadmap, including refresh and retirement strategies
    • Design, deliver, enhance, and support (tier three) storage and data services per agreed SLAs to Mobility business units
    • Coordinate with Corporate Aptiv IT organization to ensure continuity and integration between existing Corporate infrastructure and Mobility
    • Partner with Corporate Aptiv security organization to coordinate, design, and implement security measures to protect data and intellectual property
    • Consult with Corporate Aptiv security organization to establish data governance structure and standards for collecting, retaining, and managing data across Mobility
    • Execute all backup and disaster recovery activities across Mobility’s business units
    • Perform in-depth root cause analysis of storage and data problems and define actions for timely resolution and corrective actions; work with relevant vendors as necessary to assist with root cause analysis and problem resolution
    • Provide thought leadership and apply leading trends in storage and data technologies across service planning and delivery
    • Support Vendor Management Lead and Infrastructure Services Lead to issue storage and data related RFPs, asses bid proposals, negotiate contracts, and onboard vendors
    • Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers to collect requirements from Mobility business units to shape storage and data services
    • Flexible to support delivery of infrastructure services outside of storage & data, specifically within the areas of hosting & compute; end user computing; networking, and identity access management
    • Serve as a Subject Matter Adviser on storage and data technologies; act as the escalation resource for tier three support / major incidents with the Customer & Support Services team
    • Lead storage and data projects from planning to delivery which may require cross coordination with Corporate Aptiv 

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or information systems
    • 8+ years of relevant work experience
    • Experience working within Storage & Data Services Delivery or similar function
    • Experience working with cloud storage and data services
    • In depth knowledge of storage and data architecture frameworks, concepts, and designing IT solutions including block, file, object, and cloud storage solutions at petabyte scales
    • Knowledge of data transmission and replication technologies and capabilities
    • Knowledge of Information Lifecycle Management and tiered storage models
    • Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, and make sound decisions in emergency situations
    • Highly self-motivated and directed with attention to detail
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
    • Proven skills in service development, delivery, operations 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience and familiarity with hosting & compute; end user computing; networking, and identity access management services
    • Experience managing unstructured data solutions and metadata
    • Experience supporting fast moving business organizations
    • Relevant experience in a service oriented organization
    • Ability to develop & articulate technology innovation roadmap and vision
    • Strong strategic planning skills
    • Experience managing relationships across varying levels of technical competency
