As a Solutions Engineer, you will work with our customers to solve problems and make sure their machine learning projects are successful. By deeply understanding the technical domain, Aquarium’s products, and each customer’s business goals, you’ll design and demonstrate solutions tailored for each set of users. Your work will directly enable machine learning teams across all industries to deploy machine learning models that work in production, from small startups to large enterprises.

You will partner with our go-to-market team during the pre-sales process, leading prospective customers through evaluation and communicating technical concepts to our buyers. You will create technical content (demos, code samples, blog posts, and other sales collateral) and be the voice of engineering while working with customer engineering teams.

What you will do

    • Become a subject matter expert on the machine learning data landscape, and its many industry applications.
    • Lead technical evaluations with prospective customers, identifying their pain points and connecting them to Aquarium’s products.
    • Partner with Account Executives on pre-sales activities, such as product demos, pilot scoping, opportunity qualification, etc.
    • Work closely with our customers to understand their problems and execute on post-sales on-boarding plans.
    • Act as an advisor to customers in order to drive maturity of use and broader adoption.
    • Develop technical content for marketing, educational documentation, and pre-sales material.
    • Work across the organization as the voice of the customer and drive improvements in the product and company strategy.

What you should have

    • 3+ years as a Solutions Engineer or similar customer-facing engineering role.
    • A customer-success focused mindset. You empathize with and understand customer problems, and come up with creative solutions to solve their problems.
    • Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
    • A deep understanding of the B2B SaaS sales process. Previous experience with machine learning is a plus.
    • Comfort presenting technical concepts to both business executives and individual engineers.
    • Experience working within small teams, startups, or other rapidly growing organizations.
Machine learning is eating the world. However, though it’s easier than ever to build a prototype of an ML system, it’s still extremely difficult to build, maintain, and improve ML systems in production to solve real-world problems. Aquarium builds an ML data management platform that allows ML teams to improve their models by improving their datasets in an easy-to-use interface. We've accelerated the pace of model improvement by up to 8x for our customers.

Aquarium is backed by top investors including Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital. Our customers span many industries, from robotics to agriculture to construction. We’re looking to grow our team with thoughtful and high-caliber people who’ll shape the future of Aquarium -- both as a product and as a company.
