Your Role

The Arbitrum Foundation seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Head of Grants to oversee our grant programs and investment initiatives. The Head of Grants will manage the entire grants lifecycle, from soliciting and reviewing grant proposals to monitoring grant progress and outcomes, while also leading our grants team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting innovative projects in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

Your Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the Foundation's grant strategy to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Review and assess grant applications to ensure they meet criteria and align with the Foundation’s mission.
    • Manage the grant approval process, working closely with key stakeholders.
    • Evaluate grant proposals based on strategic fit, potential impact, and financial viability.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive evaluation framework to measure the effectiveness and impact of funded projects.
    • Identify and evaluate strategic investment opportunities within the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
    • Develop investment strategies that support the Foundation's mission and long-term goals.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the grants team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the grants team, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.

What You'll Need

    • 4+ experience in investment analysis and portfolio management in crypto VCs within the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry.
    • Strong understanding of the blockchain ecosystem, including key players, technological trends, and emerging opportunities. Particularly the Ethereum and Arbitrum Ecosystem would be very advantageous
    • Familiarity with best practices in grant management and an ability to develop and implement effective grant policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
    • Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, including grantees, board members, and external partners.
    • A genuine passion for supporting innovative projects and initiatives within the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
    • A proactive and forward-thinking mindset, with a commitment to staying informed about industry trends and developments.
