The Opportunity:
We are looking for a paralegal to join our small in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will be well versed in a wide range of corporate legal practice areas and should have the ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment. 

The paralegal will be responsible for:
-Preparing legal templates, policies, and process documents
-Drafting, reviewing, and assisting with negotiations of contracts (NDAs, MTAs, consulting agreements, etc.)
-Maintaining and updating internal contract database
-Intellectual property support, including tracking project status from patentability and freedom to operate perspectives
-Employment law assistance, including onboarding and offboarding
-HR compliance support
-Assisting with corporate matters, including organization and management of corporate documents (e.g., company’s equity program)
-Reviewing and processing invoices from outside counsel and legal vendors

The candidate should have at least three years of relevant legal/administrative experience, preferably in the life sciences or related field.  Additionally, an associate or bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certification preferred.  The paralegal can expect to be compensated $110-$140,000 annually with benefits and equity, based on experience level.  The position will require the individual to be on-site at our current location in Berkeley, California at least 1-2 days per week.
