We are currently seeking an Executive Assistant (EA) to support Arcadia’s CSO (Prachee Avasthi). The EA will provide exceptional executive support to allow the CSO to focus on the strategic and scientific needs of Arcadia. This role supports not only internal activities but also critical engagement with the broader science and metascience communities. The EA will serve as the primary point of contact for our CSO, coordinate executive outreach and external relations efforts, and oversee special projects in collaboration with the CSO and other Arcadia administrative staff. The EA must be a resourceful and creative problem solver who enjoys working within a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment. The CSO will rely on the EA for flexibility and foresight, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality related to Arcadia systems and operations. This is an opportune position for an individual who is excited to learn about science and the building of a science organization.
Our ideal candidate is a quick responder with the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. We are looking for an EA with strong written and verbal communication skills (with an emphasis on precision and succinct delivery), organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The EA is an important representative of the CSO and Arcadia as a whole and must engage with others on their behalf respectfully, authentically, and inclusively. The EA will interact with the C-suite frequently and must be able to work under pressure to handle a wide variety of activities and sensitive matters with efficiency and discretion.
This position is based fully on site at Arcadia’s headquarters in Berkeley, CA.
What you’ll do at Arcadia:
-Manage the busy and complex calendar of the CSO and make recommendations on priorities and business needs
-Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner to keep the CSO fully briefed on upcoming commitments and responsibilities-Track and follow through for key action items identified by the CSO or in company meetings
-Streamline communication between the CSO and CEO through attendance at weekly joint meetings, taking meeting notes and identifying action items, and frequent communication with the CEO’s EA
-Manage travel logistics, event attendance, and ad hoc projects
-Manage CSO engagement with other internal team members
-Communicate on behalf of the CSO in response to external inquiries
-Draft CSO memos, emails, or presentations as needed
-Identify opportunities for process optimization
-Additional responsibilities may be added in accordance with demonstrable strengths of EA

Salary range: $90-110K w benefits
