Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:

As the Director, Visual Merchandising, you set the global visual merchandising (VM) strategy and direction for product presentation in our physical retail touch points. You translate the Arc’teryx product vision through visual merchandising strategies that are globally consistent and result in an exceptional guest experience with the brand. You are the driver of global direct to consumer visual merchandising concepts that support guest-centric story-telling, create meaningful retail experiences, and increase productivity.  
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
 
Meet your future team:

You will lead a dynamic and talented VM team who are accountable for driving global consistency of visual merchandising within our retail channels to maximize sales, profit, and brand positioning. We create, deliver and train on evergreen brand standards and seasonal directives informed by collaboration with our cross-functional teams.

If you were in the Director, Visual Merchandising role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • Leading the team, and working closely with Design, Brand and Merchandising teams, to develop, evolve, and scale the visual merchandising tools, processes, principles and communication that support best in class retail experiences
    • Leading the strategy, evolution and execution of store fixtures, mannequins and other key visual merchandising tools (i.e. hangars, lighting, etc).
    • Leading a team that creates and implements seasonal product presentation guides that execute on brand and product vision for the season and ensuring standards are maintained throughout our store environments, interiors and windows
    • Leading a field team to open new stores in existing and new markets
    • Collaborating with Merchandising team to build model/article capacity strategies that support assortment plans, financial targets and brand strategies
    • Leading the development of formal and scalable field VM training for Commerical leadership teams, in-store VM leads and Wholesale partners
    • Leading international regional partners to ensure global VM standards are adopted to support best in class retail experiences
    • Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

    • Creating new, inspiring and differentiated visual merchandising strategies depending on store size, layout and format
    • Partnering with Merchandising teams at key GTM touchpoints to incorporate visual merchandising expertise and tools
    • Creating and managing the corporate visual merchandising budgets

Are you our next Director, Visual Merchandising?

    • You have university degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Retail, Business, or other related subject
    • You have 10+ years of visual merchandising and/or buying leadership experience within vertical retail
    • You have an understanding of and experience with the retail environment, including a strong understanding of planograms, displays, and wall systems
    • You are a creative and strategic thinker, an ‘influencer’, a consensus builder, and excellent team player
    • You have a great eye for product and product presentation - you are innovative with product  visual presentation with a constant focus on brand integrity
    • You have experience with InDesign and Mock Shop and familiarity with the Arc’teryx brand and products
    • You have the ability and willingness to travel internationally
    • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
$146,000 - $182,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$146,000 - CAD$182,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.

Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
