Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: 
As the Director of Asset Protection, you will build, lead and advance the safety, security and asset protection function and lead the team of folks doing so for Arc’teryx. You work with retail and store development leaders, people & culture (P&C), facilities, distribution, finance, e-commerce, and other key partners to develop and implement effective asset protection strategies, policies, and procedures across our business. Initially, this role will focus on supporting our North American and EMEA Retail Stores and will expand to building out a multidisciplinary risk function which will support all areas of the organization globally.    
 
The preference is for the role to be based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. We would be open to a remote option on a select basis. Business operations occur on PST time zone. 

If you were in the Director, Asset Protection role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing: 

Asset Protection

    • Lead the retail field asset protection strategy, by developing and implementing programming and practices to enhance the support, security, and profitability of our stores.  
    • ExpandNAM asset protection standards to all Arc’teryx retail locations globally, with careful consideration of regional requirements and nuances. 
    • Implement risk frameworks, dashboards and provide monthly status reports to Commercial NAM & EMEA business leaders.  
    • Standardize investigative methodologies across Asset Protection and P&C teams. 
    • Build capital security infrastructure upgrade plans, while managing associated security spend. 
    • Lead a team of high-performing asset protection and loss prevention experts that lead from the principles and values of our culture.

Corporate Security

    • Develop and implement physical security and safety programming for HQ and Office locations. 
    • Lead the investigation and resolution of security incidents, theft and fraud cases, impacting non-retail locations. Act as the principal point of contact for any law enforcement investigations.  
    • Develop and implement Executive protection and travel security risk briefing programs.  
    • Manage security infrastructure protecting our HQ, DC, and Remote Office sites, including access control, CCTV, locks, and other physical security measures.  

Distribution / Supply Chain Safety & Security

    • Build and manage physical security and safety accountabilities and programs for Arc’teryx Distribution Centers.  
    • Build a roadmap towards CTPAT / PIP security standards compliance.   

Ecommerce Fraud / Transactional Risk Management

    • Lead the Ecommerce Fraud and Transactional Risk function for Arc’teryx. 
    • Assess, develop and execute process and technology improvement strategies to modernize and optimize our transactional risk ecosystem.  
    • Integrate with the Commercial Business (Ecommerce, Retail, Guest Services) and provide routine risk and efficacy reporting on transactional risk controls.  

Health and Safety

    • Create a health and safety training and compliance program which satisfies the legislative and operational needs of the market and workforce.   
    • Ensures legislative compliance with injury prevention programs and injury reporting standards.  
    • Work closely with P&C teams and insurers to manage workplace safety incidents and support return to work programs.  

Business Continuity

    • Support the business in building disaster/all peril response plans and associated recovery time objectives.  
    • Work closely with the executive team, develop tabletop exercises and provide routine readiness status reports.  

Are you our next Director, Asset Protection

    • You have 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate and operational asset protection, security management, in a retail, supply chain, manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years at a senior level. 
    • You have a Bachelors’ degree or post-secondary education in business or commerce or a related field. 
    • You have experience effectively communicating data in a way that enables strategic decision-making. 
    • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • You are a strong advisor with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at a global level. 
    • You have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills and proven experience building high-performing teams.  
    • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions. 
    • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity. 
    • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration. 
    • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement. 
    • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.

$146,000 - $182,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $146,000 - $182,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. 

Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
