Location: North Vancouver, BC - This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and retail stores, and is open to hybrid remote work
Work Arrangement: Flexible, between in-office and home
Pay Range:$44,700-$55,100; pay is dependent on year of study and related experience 
Duration: Eight (8) months, January 5 – August 14, 2026
Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week, M-F
 
 
Your Co-Op Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Retail People & Culture Co-op, you will support the P&C team in delivering key people initiatives for our Retail employees. You’ll gain hands-on experience in operational processes, help build, evolve, and scale people practices for Retail with exposure to both Canada and the US and collaborate with cross-functional partners. You will contribute to projects that enhance the employee experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn about P&C operations in a retail environment while making a meaningful impact.

The People & Culture Business Partner team operates in strategic partnership with the business, to drive the continuous evolution of people practices and foster a culture of belonging that generates high-performance, strength-based teams, and values-based leadership. You will partner with Retail leaders in the application of thoughtful, intentional, and innovative people practices. 


If you were a People & Culture Co-Op Student now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • Building process maps and evaluating current workflows between P&C, Retail Leaders, and cross-functional support partners
    • Creating standard operating procedures and operating guidelines for core P&C processes used by the BP team and retail leaders
    • Auditing, tracking, and ensuring people practices remain compliant with local and federal requirements
    • Auditing programs, identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and supporting the creation of health & safety training or initiatives as needed
    • Auditing existing policies, recommending updates, and supporting the creation and management of a policy governance process
    • Building templates for monthly and quarterly people reporting, including standardizing the capture and tracking of people preferences
    • Collaborating with Retail Operations, Asset Protection, Retail Training, Talent Acquisition, Americas HR (People Resources Hub), and other people teams to support alignment and execution

Here are some of the things you will learn by the end of your Co-Op placement:

    • Understanding the retail business, how it operates, and how People & Culture partners with the business to provide recommendations
    • Gaining exposure to policy work, including creating policy programs, conducting audits, participating in committees, navigating approval processes, and managing document controls
    • Developing experience in people analytics and reporting

Are you our next People & Culture Co-Op Student?

    • You are studying in an accredited university in your 3rd or 4th year of study working towards a bachelor’s degree ideally in human resources
    • You have some experience or exposure to HR
    • You are comfortable using Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
    • You have a collaborative mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and the confidence to ask for help
    • You are resourceful, able to search for information, and work effectively across functions
    • You have solid research skills and can leverage relationships to get things done
    • You are proactive in identifying root causes and developing solutions
    • You remain flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
    • You balance autonomy with collaboration effectively
    • You seek the best solutions, even when they aren’t the easiest, with a commitment to doing what is right
    • You are passionate about your work and about getting outside and living it
$44,700 - $55,100 a year
Individual pay is determined by factors such as program of study, year of study, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
