Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Learning Systems Specialist, Learning & Development (L&D) you will be the administer of our Arc’teryx Learning Management System (LMS), BIRDu, as well as act as the liaise for our parent company’s LMS. Both systems host learning that supports the ongoing evolution of our people, as well as compliance training that meet regulatory requirements. You will leverage your systems management expertise to support cross-functional learning initiatives. Applying your technical aptitude, you will work directly with the Manager, Learning & Development to support the migration, implementation, and adoption of our future LMS platform.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work.  Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:
You will be part of the Learning & Development team, which is responsible for the global learning experiences at Arc’teryx, creates in-person and online programs, and manages the Learning Management Systems. This team works with a variety of cross-functional partners including Information Systems/IT, Retail Training, and others, to support organization-wide change initiatives.

If you were the Learning Systems Specialist, L&D now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • Supporting the migration and adoption of our future LMS platform (vendor selection complete) to ensure our organization has the tool and to processes to leverage eLearning to scale our business
    • Training and supporting internal super users on our new LMS to de-centralize course develop and fuel adoption of the platform  
    • Maintaining and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Learning Management System (BIRDu) e.g., setting up new accounts, changing existing accounts, managing data imports, completing reporting etc
    • Supporting the upkeep of the library of eLearning courses and resources e.g., collaborating with the Retail Training, EMEA Training, and Arc’One Training leads on required updates
    • Collaborating and communicating with other People and Culture team members to support key initiatives e.g., administrative support on conferences/events, advising on A/V set-ups for classroom-based sessions
    • Managing the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring its smooth operation, accessibility, and effectiveness in meeting the organization's learning and development goals
    • Liaising with stakeholders, instructional designers/developers, to understand training needs, gather feedback, and provide support in aligning learning initiatives with business objectives
    • Collaborating with subject matter experts and instructional designers to develop and implement engaging and impactful learning experiences within the LMS platform
    • Building reports on learning metrics in collaboration with our Data Analytics team
    • Providing technical support and guidance to employees, instructors, and administrators on LMS functionality, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing user experience
    • Administering and providing technical support for virtual learning sessions in MS Teams or Zoom
    • Assisting in the rollout of new courses, training modules, and learning technologies within the LMS, ensuring smooth implementation, user adoption, and integration with existing systems
    • Staying informed about emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in learning technology and instructional design to continuously enhance the capabilities and performance of the LMS

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

    • Monitoring, assessing, and implementing improvements to the LMS to improve adoption and engagement
    • Updating and maintaining our library of eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline/Rise 
    • Developing and documenting processes and best practices for the Learning & Development team  

Are you our next Learning Systems Specialist, L&D?

    • You have post-secondary education in Adult Learning, Project Management, Computer Science/Systems Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • You have 5+ year’s experience managing systems, projects, and technology-centred initiatives
    • You have a minimum of 5 years experience of successful project implementations that positively impacted strategic objectives, with a preference for experience in vertical business models
    • You demonstrate a growth mindset and are gracious about giving and receiving growth-producing feedback
    • You exhibit a bias for action and are motivated by a high-paced environment
    • You have experience managing stakeholders and competing priorities
    • You are comfortable working cross-functionally (i.e., working with IT/IS departments) 
    • You are detail-oriented and ensure accuracy in the work you produce
    • You are comfortable tailoring your communication style to work well with stakeholders at all levels in the organization
    • You are a strong relationship builder who brings a care and a service mindset to interactions with others

$80,000 - $100,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $80,000 - $100,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
