Join ARC’TERYX as a Director, Omnichannel Platform and spearhead the establishment of our Omnichannel domain services platform. In this trailblazing role, you will collaborate with the VP, Technology, and the VP, Engineering Excellence to lay strategic groundwork and lead the construction of IT systems and business services. As a leader in this space, you will work with architecture and application leaders to amplify our system scalability, accelerate development, and forge critical business services that set the stage for innovation and growth.

This role can be hired remote. Business operations occur in the PST time zone.

Meet your future team:
 
You will lead and build a team that is responsible for Omnichannel business services and underlying integration platforms globally for Arc’teryx with both local and remote team members. You will drive new platform development to meet business demands with unmatched speed and flexibility. As you build your team you will work alongside a dynamic team of technology experts in delivering at scale.

If you were the Director, Omnichannel Platform now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • Engaging with leadership to synchronize project delivery and usher in transformative technologies
    • Steer the creation of a backlog for platform development.
    • Mentor and lead a dynamic team of IT professionals
    • Work in concert with IS leaders to ensure Platform Engineering systems integrate seamlessly across the company
    • Liaise with various IT functions to align technological support with the company's roadmap and strategic objectives
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Guild to advance the engineering practice within ARC'TERYX
    • Initiate the creation of our inaugural platform
    • Implement an Internal Developer Portal to streamline workflows
    • Ideate and execute a 'thinnest viable platform' to demonstrate innovation, potential and scalability
    • Collaborate with architects and developers to transition existing projects into the Omnichannel portfolio, such as Order, Product and Inventory Services

    • The Director of Omnichannel Platform will be a direct owner in re-shaping how mission critical commercial channel technology is adopted and leveraged at ARC’TERYX directly linked to growth, agility, and quality demands for a globally recognized brand

Are you our next Director, Omnichannel Platform?

    • You have a minimum of 10+ years in applied engineering with a focus on platform development and management
    • You have demonstrated leadership in a technical environment, with experience in building service-oriented backend systems, guiding and growing teams
    • You have expert-level knowledge in AWS technologies, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure
    • You have proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, including orchestration, networking, and security
    • You have experience with microservices architecture, including design, development, and deployment strategies
    • You have familiarity with MACH technologies (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, and Headless), implementing scalable and flexible enterprise systems
    • You have proficiency in a variety of programming languages and a commitment to polyglot programming practices
    • You have experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies and tools
    • You have in-depth understanding of both high and low-level system design, capable of creating and delivering detailed solution architecture.
    • You have ability to produce and interpret architectural diagrams, data definitions, and models
    • You have strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with the capacity to lead in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.
    • You have a track record of developing and executing technology strategies that align with business goals
    • You have exceptional mentorship and coaching skills, with a history of developing high-performing technical teams
    • You have strong communication skills, capable of inspiring teams and stakeholders with a clear vision and innovative thinking
    • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
    • You may also have advanced degrees or certifications in technology leadership, cloud computing, or system architecture (highly desirable)

$146,000 - $182,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$146,000 - CAD$182,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
