Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Real Estate Specialist, you will lead real estate market research, market analysis and real estate projects to support Arc’teryx store growth in North America. You will partner with Real Estate Managers to identify future store opportunities, manage existing locations by negotiating lease renewals and short-term leases. You will ensure that expectations are set on quality, timelines, budget, and analyze new lease commitments to confirm accuracy and competitiveness are aligned with the vision, goals, and brand’s purpose. This will require hands-on leadership as we navigate new communities globally.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Meet Your Future Team:
The Store Development Team collaborates with key stakeholders and strategic partners in the global development of new retail stores by identifying future locations, assessing the viability, developing business cases/executive summaries for proposed locations, and working with regional teams to develop a market plan. This position will work closely with Real Estate Managers, Store Designers and Construction Managers, to manage our real estate in North America.
If you were the Real Estate Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Working with regional teams to create five-year market plan identifying future location opportunities, assessing their viability, developing business cases/executive summaries for proposed locations
- Supporting business planning with qualitative and quantitative market data
- Analyzing store performance, occupancy costs against industry standards and competitors
- Establishing and maintaining landlord and broker relationships to inform the real estate community of company objectives and site requirements
- Negotiating short-term leases, renewals, lease extensions, partnering with key stakeholders including legal, operation, finance, store design and construction
- Managing lease obligations across existing store portfolio and store lifecycle initiatives

- Leading leasing projects including new stores, concepts, markets
- Coordinating vendor proposals and contract negotiations

Are you our next Real Estate Specialist?
- You have 3+ years’ experience in retail organization collaborating with cross-functional teams
- You have 2+ years’ experience in commercial leasing and familiarity with Leases
- You have experience with Mapping Software or GIS platforms
- You have strong relationship-building skills and experience working closely with cross-functional partners
- You have well-developed critical thinking and business curiosity, analytical and creative problem-solving skills and strong ability to work with complex data to drive insights and decisions
- You have strong communication and presentation skills
- You have a strong ability to drive work to ensure deadlines are met
- You are a team player with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision, AND in a collaborative environment
- You are driven to problem solve, and are open to learning
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

$69,000 - $86,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $69,000 - $86,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
